  • Patent number: 5517792
Abstract: A guard assembly for use on a guy-wire of the type having an end terminating in a loop comprises an elongated tubular member of a relatively rigid plastic having a hollow interior throughout its length. The tubular member has a single split extending longitudinally thereof between the opposite ends thereof to allow the tubular member to be installed in surrounding relationship to a guy-wire by being moved laterally thereover with the guy-wire entering the hollow interior through the split. First and second generally diametrically opposed aligned apertures are located adjacent the first end of the tubular member so that they can be aligned with the loop on the guy-wire. An elongated pin-like fastener extends through the first aperture and has head portions at opposite ends with a first head portion located within the hollow interior of the tubular member and being radially compressible to a size to allow the head to be selectfully passed through the second aligned opening.

  • Patent number: 4770491
Abstract: A dead end appliance for a fiber optic cable includes a housing having an elongated opening therethrough. The elongated opening is angularly disposed with respect to a longitudinal axis of the housing and opposite to the lay angle of helical retaining rods surrounding the cable. This conformation assures full capture of the retaining rods within the housing. Strengthening ribs for the housing are disposed substantially normal to the housing longitudinal axis. Additionally, means for grounding the assembly is integrally formed with the housing, and either a U-shaped member or a pair of clevis members may be used for attaching the housing to an associated support.

  • Patent number: 3978276
Abstract: There is disclosed a spacer-damper for electrical transmission cables or the like. A rigid spacer composed of mating half-sections has defined at its extremities hollow spherical sockets for receiving the spherical end portions of individual cable connector structures. The opposite ends of the connectors are fashioned for effecting a gripping connection with a cable. A resilient damping material is interposed between the spherical connector end portions and their associated receiving sockets and the damping material is secured to both the ball and the socket so that on pivoting of the connector arm attendant cable vibration or oscillation the damping material is placed in shear to effect a damping action.
