  • Patent number: 7877498
Abstract: The invention streams data by identifying an existing streaming data channel and disabling the channel so that data can not be streamed; breaking the channel to form at least one pair of channel connection points; connecting at least one streaming data plug-in between the connection points; and enabling the channel so that streaming data can flow through the channel via the plug-in, wherein the at least one plug-in can process the streaming data as it flows trough the channel.

  • Publication number: 20100299555
Abstract: A management apparatus operable for protecting data on a failing storage device in a data processing system including a storage array having at least one of a plurality of storage devices. The management apparatus includes a receiver component for receiving a failure message indicating that the plurality of storage devices comprises the failing storage device. An analyzer component is in communication with the receiver component and responsive to receipt of the failure message, for analyzing the failure message. A sender component is in communication with the analyzer component. The sender component is adapted for, in response to the analyzer component determining the failing storage device, sending a zoning message, the zoning message instructing the storage array to isolate the failing storage device, and sending a protect message. The protect message instructs the storage array to protect data on the failing storage device.

  • Patent number: 7792065
Abstract: Embodiments include a method directed to a first proxy detecting that a secure data connection between a first and second client should be created on a secure data connection setup path. A first secure connection can be established with the first client. If a second proxy can reach the second client and the second proxy supports secure data connection setup paths, a second secure connection can be established with the second proxy causing the second proxy to establish a third secure connection with the second client. A session key indicating the secure data connection setup path can be received from the second client via the second proxy and forwarded to the first client. A request and session key can be received from the first client to initiate the secure data connection. The request is forwarded to the second client via the first and second proxies based on the session key.

  • Publication number: 20100106927
Abstract: A method and a system for unlocking a storage device that has become locked or cannot be unlocked are disclosed. A hint is generated from a key by removing bits and adding bits. A position of removed bits, a position of added bits, the number of removed bits and the number of added bits are stored and known securely. When the key cannot unlock a storage device corresponding to the key, the position of removed bits, the position of added bits, the number of removed bits (N) and the number of added bits are retrieved. Then, the added bits are removed in the hint. Each possible N bits are placed in the hint at the position of removed bits to generate 2N possible keys. Then, each of 2N possible key are tried to unlock the storage device.

  • Publication number: 20080313456
Abstract: A server apparatus is operable in communication with mobile client apparatuses for securely recording the occurrence of a transactional exchange meeting between holders of the mobile client apparatuses. A token component sets up a meeting arrangement mediated by the server and to communicate a first issued token to a first mobile client apparatus and a second issued token to a second mobile client apparatus. A token validator component receives at least a portion of each of the tokens from the mobile client apparatuses. The token validator component validates that the at least a portion of the token received from the first mobile client apparatus matches at least a portion of the second issued token, and vice-versa. A transaction recorder component creates and maintains a secure record of at least the request, the response, the validation of the tokens, and a completion signal from each of the mobile client apparatuses.

  • Publication number: 20070071002
Abstract: A SIP communication session can be set up between at least two client SIP nodes over at least one proxy SIP node. A proxy SIP node is located based on a destination client name and domain and a secure signal connection is set up between a calling client SIP node and the proxy SIP node. The destination client IP address is located from the proxy SIP node using the destination client name and domain. An additional secure signal connection is set up from the proxy SIP node to a called client SIP node. The secure signal connection and the additional secure signal connection together form a secure signal path. The destination client SIP node is requested to return its IP address across the secure signal path. The returned IP address is used in setting up a data connection between the calling client SIP node and the destination client SIP node.

  • Patent number: 6970536
Abstract: There is described an interactive voice response system comprising: a voice application including an voice application API command defining a function call to a first communication process; a channel process for interpreting the voice application API command and making the defined function call; a signaling process for receiving the function call and for performing the first communication process; characterised by; said signaling process having a second communication process; tag information embedded in the voice application and related to the API command; a tag interpreter for reading the tag information in the voice application and passing the tag information to a tag process in the signaling process; and a tag process for reading the tag information and, if related to the API command, directing the signaling process to perform the second communication process rather than the first communication process.

  • Patent number: 6775366
Abstract: A system for adding internet functionality to a telephone call between a first caller and a second caller. The system comprises a telephony application, responsive to receiving a source telephone number associated with the first caller and a destination telephone number associated with the second caller, for extracting the numbers. A first query is constructed using the source number to access details relating to the first caller and a second query is constructed using the destination number to access details relating to the second caller. An internet related function is then performed in accordance with these details. The internet related function may be to record a telephone conversation and email it to the callers, or to email call or caller details to each of the callers, or to exchange files, such as word processing documents and images etc.

  • Patent number: 5467350
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting X.25 communications over the D-channel of an ISDN link. This is achieved by terminal adapters connected between an X.25 terminal and an ISDN connection which contain converters to convert X.25 LAPB frames into LAPD frames and vice versa. The conversion process involves directly copying fields from the incoming LAPB frame into a LAPD frame with the minimum amount of verification. Essentially the only checking performed is to examine the number of octets in each field of the incoming frame to ensure that the conversion process itself does not fall down.
