Abstract: An order management system permits the filling of orders for items. The items are supplied from fulfillment centres or from suppliers enrolled in electronic marketplaces. The order management system has a set of fulfillment centre objects that represent fulfillment centres. There is a release to fulfillment object for associating one or more items in an order with one of the fulfillment centres. Fulfillment instructions for items associated with a fulfillment centre object are sent to the corresponding fulfillment centre.
