  • Publication number: 20060036625
Abstract: A method of managing medical information is disclosed. Medical image data is received, at a real-time transfer engine, at the same time that the patient is being scanned by a medical imaging device. The medical image data is then converted to a browser-compatible image format at a converter engine connected to receive the medical image data from the real-time transfer engine. The converter engine comprises a decoder engine for extracting image pixel data from the medical image data and an encoding engine for converting the image pixel data to a browser-compatible format connected to receive the image pixel data. The image pixel data may be converted to a browser compatible format without loss of diagnostic data.

  • Publication number: 20060036626
Abstract: A method of managing medical information is disclosed. A plurality of units of medical information is received at a plurality of networked computers. Each of the plurality of units of medical information is converted into a format compatible with the World Wide Web. Each of the units of medical information received by one of the plurality of networked computers contains medical information distinct from medical information received the other of the plurality of networked computers. An identifier is assigned to each of the plurality of units of medical information, the identifier being unique. Finally, user access is provided to any of the plurality of units of medical information based on inputting the identifier into a World Wide Web browser.

  • Publication number: 20050203868
Abstract: An Internet address data format for accessing a database comprising medical images is disclosed. The address format corresponds to a plurality of modalities from a plurality of scan dates and associated with a plurality of patients. The images are stored in a browser compatible format. The address format comprises a patient identifier associated with each image, a modality identifier associated with each image and positioned after the patient identifier, and a scan date identifier associated with each image positioned after the patient identifier, whereby a user at a browser may select a desired image by entering an Internet address associated with the desired image.

  • Publication number: 20050203867
Abstract: A method of managing medical images is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a plurality of images corresponding to a plurality of modalities, displaying to a user at a client computer a selection comprising images associated with at least two different modalities, and, in response to the user selection, simultaneously displaying at the client computer images corresponding to at least two different modalities.

  • Publication number: 20050164411
Abstract: This invention discloses a single capture affinity assay and apparatus for the identification and quantification of an analyte in a biological sample. The assay uses an array of affinity capture agents specific for an analyte wherein the analyte is removed prior to detection. After the analyte is bound to the capture agent, a moiety of the complex is chemically modified, then the analyte is dissociated from the capture agent, revealing unmodified moiety located in the analyte-capture agent contact interface, which is detected by binding with a signal tag and the signal is quantitated. Analyte detection is achieved without using labeled secondary detection agents. The method is especially applicable to proteins, with antibodies as capture agents and selected amino acids as lysine being modified. The method may be used for uniplex or multiplexed analysis, and is applicable to high-throughput protein measurement.

  • Publication number: 20050154289
Abstract: A method of managing medical information is disclosed. The method comprises receiving, at a first computer, requests for medical information from a second computer. The first computer responds by sending a set of instructions to the second computer. The instructions are sufficient to allow the second computer to automatically retrieve the requested medical information from a third computer.

  • Patent number: 6205349
Abstract: By administering MR contrast agent such as Gd-DPTA, waiting for a predetermined period of time and then acquiring T1-weighted MR image data, infarcted myocardial tissue can be distinguished from injured myocardial tissue. An in vivo cine MR study is used to distinguish normal myocardial tissue from injured or infarcted myocardial tissue. As a result, it is possible to distinguish between normal, injured but living, and infarcted myocardium using MR imaging.
