    Abstract: This device is designed to shoot balls and can be used to play with dogs. It comprises a handle, an upper tube attached to the handle, a trigger mechanism, a lower tube slidably mounted against a mechanical energy storage device such as a metal spring, a rubber band or compressed air in the upper tube, and a gripping mechanism mounted in the lower end of the lower tube. The gripping mechanism is designed to grab the ball when the device handle is pushed down and to release the ball when the trigger is pulled and the lower tube is extended outward by the force of the spring causing the ball to fly away.
