  • Patent number: 9499297
Abstract: A package of multiple containers in a carton formed from a carton blank has a number of panels including a top panel, a bottom panel, opposed side panels and opposed end panels. The carton may include a dispenser defined by a dispenser tear line formed in one or more panels of the carton in which the dispenser tear line does not extend into the composite end panels nor does it remove corners from the panels. The dispenser may include a portion in the top panel of the carton and may also include a portion of the top panel and an adjacent side panel of the carton. In one aspect, the dispenser leaves the adjacent corners in the top panel of the carton intact thereby maintaining the structural integrity of the carton and the package containing the pouches or other containers.

  • Publication number: 20150014199
Abstract: A package is formed from a paperboard blank having two panels foldably connected together. One panel has formed therein openings which are configured to the shape of a product which is inserted into the opening so as to be held, yet displayed, thereby. When the blank is folded, a rim portion of the product is sandwiched between the panels and a body portion of the product extends through one of the openings. The rim of each product is sandwiched between panels to thereby retain the product in the associated product receiving hole. A number of flaps in the second panel are each aligned with one of the product receiving holes and superimposed over the upper face of the product. Each flap is at least partially removable from the carrier so as to allow for removal of the product from the package. Another aspect of this invention is a blank for forming such a carrier and package.

  • Patent number: 7731080
Abstract: An anti-sifting polygonal carton stores granulated and powdered products. The carton starts as a single blank with four sections: a side, a front, a side, and a rear. The sides have a side panel with two flanking miter panels and two minor flaps. Each miter panel has two opposite miter flaps with embossing. The front has a front panel with a second major flap having a tear strip and an opposite second major lower flap having a crease. Separated from the front by a side, the rear has a rear panel having a miter tab opposite the side and a first major flap and an opposite first major lower flap. The fold lines continuous with the miter flaps and the miter tab are reinforced with tape or patches. The tear strip and top of the carton have a pattern of cuts to open and to reclose the carton.

  • Patent number: 5660325
Abstract: A method and mechanism for opening a paperboard carton that is child resistant. A dual-tab arrangement is used whereby one tab is removed to expose a second tab. The second tab is connected to a tape that is attached to and circles the interior of the carton. When the second tab is pulled it pulls with it the tape. The tape is pulled through the wall of the carton and sequentially severs the carton. The tape circles back to where the second tab was first pulled and, as a result, the carton is completely severed and the user is able to dispense the product contained within the carton.
