Abstract: A system and a method are provided managing services associated with a mobile device. It includes detecting a new identity module card is in the mobile device; receiving a username ID and a password on the mobile device; and upon verifying that the username ID and the password are identical to a previous username ID and a previous password associated with the mobile device, the mobile device enabling access to the services. In another aspect, after detecting a new identity module card, and if an input is received to associate a new username ID and a new password with the mobile device, then the services are erased from the mobile device.

Abstract: Returning a tagged facet tree to an end user who is only authorized to access an authorized portion of the facet tree is provided. A facet tree is received from a facet tree database. A first rule for the facet tree and a second rule for a plurality of tagging scenarios based on a characteristic of the end user is acquired. The first rule is applied to the facet tree before presentation to the end user on a user interface such that only the authorized portion of the facet tree is displayed to the end user. The second rule is applied to the plurality of tagging scenarios such that only a tagging scenario that is applicable to the characteristic of the end user is displayed to the end user. The tagging scenario is made available to the end user at a user interface.

Abstract: So-called “Popcorn shooting”, and especially continuous Popcorn shooting, combined with simultaneous source shooting allows considerable flexibility in producing high-resolution data and in creating source arrays. Using a combination of simultaneous source de-blending and Popcorn reconstruction it is possible to construct using post acquisition processing arrays of any desired length by constructing a popcorn pattern that takes into account the vessel speed and physical arrangement of guns behind the towing vessel.

Abstract: Protective containers for electronic equipment, and methods of testing, use, and/or manufacture thereof, are provided. The cabinets provide a HEMP protection level to electronic equipment housed therein that meets a HEMP protection level according to MIL-STD-188-125-1.

Abstract: A computerized method and system of rendering a graphical image containing a volumetric object on an electronic display is provided. The method includes defining, at a processing circuit, the volumetric object as a volume. The volume comprises a plurality of polygons. The method includes rendering the volume for a first plurality of pixels of the electronic display. The volume is described by volume characteristics. The method includes rendering a graphical image for a second plurality of pixels of the electronic display. The graphical image is described by global characteristics. When a view ray for at least one of the second plurality of pixels intersects at least one of the first plurality of pixels, the global characteristics and a proportion of the volume characteristics are combined when rendering the graphical image. The proportion is defined by an extent of the intersection of the view ray.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, there is provided a system and method of collecting seismic data using a predetermined pattern of source activations that is intended to control the properties of the resulting seismic signal. One embodiment utilizes a seismic source array (or, more generally, any collection of controllable sources) to create a series of spaced apart in time source activations, with the spacing and number of such activations being used to shape the resulting signal. In one method of building sweeps, the guns are fired at an increasing rate (decreasing time separation) as time goes by. Other patterns may be generated by decreasing the firing rate as time goes by, or some combination of the foregoing. In an embodiment, the rate of the increase or decrease in the firing rate will change from pattern to pattern.

Abstract: According to an embodiment of the instant invention there is provided a method for collecting a blended source seismic survey that utilizes new approach to determining a random time separation between successive shots. The random time separation may be drawn in some embodiments from a distribution of uniformly distributed numbers, with ?>1/(2 f), where ? is the half-width of the uniform distribution and f is the lowest frequency of interest in the survey.

Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, a method of browsing and displaying items from a collection is provided. Information about each of plurality of items in a collection is stored. A plurality of user-entered tags is obtained. Each tag comprises a term associated with one or more of the items in the collection. The tags are stored in machine-readable storage media. An image that is representative of an item is displayed on a display screen along with images that are representative of each of a plurality of associated tags. In response to a user selecting a particular one of the displayed tags, an image representing the selected tag is displayed along with a plurality of images that are representative of items associated with the selected tag. In response to the user selecting a particular one of the displayed items, an image that is representative of the selected item can be displayed along with a plurality of images that are representative of tags associated with the selected item.

Abstract: The Monte-Carlo method of generating Popcorn shooting patterns starts with the number and sizes of the guns available and the length in time of the desired Popcorn pattern. The firing times and order of the guns will be randomly perturbed and a large number of Popcorn patterns built. Candidate Popcorn patterns will then be tested against a set of criteria to identify acceptable or the best patterns. These criteria may include limits on maximum peak strength, distinctiveness compared to the other patterns, and the size of the notches and peaks in the spectra.

Abstract: A seal assembly includes an annular static sealing member disposed within an annular channel in a housing or shaft. An annular dynamic sealing member is disposed coaxially within or about the static member and has a circumferential sealing surface engageable with the shaft or housing. An annular biasing member is disposed radially between the static and dynamic sealing members and is configured to bias the dynamic sealing member radially to maintain engagement of the sealing surface and the shaft or housing. The static member is configured to prevent relative angular displacement between the static and biasing members and the dynamic member is configured to prevent relative angular displacement between the dynamic and biasing members. As such, the dynamic sealing member, the biasing member and the static sealing member angularly displace within the channel as a single unit when torque above a particular magnitude is applied to the dynamic sealing member.

Abstract: In this universal comparison project tentatively called “Claaang,” users rate the relationship, e.g. likeness, similarity, sameness, semblance, or resemblance, between two or more things. Ratings are determined subjectively by individual users. Claaang keeps comparisons as simple as possible by representing each one with a single number. Some existing websites allow users to make consumer comparisons, but do not allow users to rate the relationships between items. Additionally, some sites provide a user the ability to compare naturally similar things only. Claaang allows for any combination of objects to be given a rating, whether they are commonly or naturally similar or not. This may reveal insights about human perception. Claaang accepts user input or votes about similarity, uses votes to adjust overall similarity ratings, and displays current ratings when prompted. Claaang is best implemented from a single server on the internet, so that it is a worldwide project.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for connecting an electronic device to a conference call. The method includes determining, at a conference server, whether the electronic device is VoIP-enabled. The method further includes, responsive to determining that the electronic device is VoIP-enabled, sending data to the electronic device for establishing connection to the conference call over VoIP communications; otherwise, sending data to the electronic device for establishing connection to the conference call over one of a public land mobile network (PLMN) or a public switched telephone network (PSTN).

Abstract: A cartridge seal for sealing a space between a housing and a rotatable shaft includes a rotary sealing member having an inner surface defining a bore for receiving the shaft and a circular outer flange extending radially outwardly from and circumferentially about a central axis, the outer flange having a radial sealing surface. A static seal assembly is disposed about the rotary member and includes an annular casing coupleable the casing and having a radial sealing surface engageable with the rotary with the housing and an annular static sealing member disposed within member sealing surface to form a sealing interface. A biasing member axially biases at least a portion of the static sealing member toward the rotary member flange. An annular collar is disposed within the casing and axially retains the rotary member within the casing such that the seal assembly is mountable on a shaft as a single unit.

Abstract: A method, mobile communication device, and computer-readable storage medium are provided for displaying a message associated with a received first request for establishing a connection to a conference call; receiving, on the mobile communication device, a delay option selection; displaying, based on the received delay option selection, a plurality of delay-time options, each of the plurality of delay-time options providing a delay time for establishing a connection to the conference call; and receiving a selection of one of the plurality of delay-time options associated with a time for establishing a connection to the conference call.

Abstract: This is a method of acquiring marine wide azimuth towed streamer seismic data. Preferably, a recording boat which tows a plurality of seismic streamers and at least one source may be accompanied by a plurality of source boats that each tow at least one source. The source boats may preferably activate their respective sources such that the subsurface reflections generated by each source interfere. The time separation between successive shots may preferably be a random variable related to the lowest frequency of interest in the data. Additionally, the source boats may preferably be alternatively fired from the head and tail of the recording streamers.

Abstract: A method performed by a first mobile device is provided. The method comprises: detecting an activity update to an account associated with the first mobile device; communicating the activity update to at least one account contact; receiving a response to the communicated update from the at least one account contact; displaying in a display of the first mobile device: an activity update view having the response appended to the activity update; and a messaging view of a messaging session between the account and the at least one account contact, the messaging view displaying the activity update in association with the response.

Abstract: A mobile wireless communications device may include a wireless transceiver and a controller coupled to the wireless transceiver. The controller may be configured to determine if an email address is associated with the mobile wireless communications device. The controller may further be configured to wirelessly send a validation request to a validation server based upon the email address, and wait for a validation email to be wirelessly received from the validation server based upon the validation request if the email address is associated with the wireless communications device, and if the validation email is wirelessly received, then validate access an application based upon the validation email.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and point of sale system provide access to discounts and other benefits during shopping. The method includes receiving an input of a user identifier (ID) or a Women, Infants and Children (WIC) ID and identifying that the associated user is a recipient of specific benefits. The method also includes displaying a graphical interface that provides a subsidized list and an out-of-pocket list to visually communicate benefits available under a subsidy program to the user. The method further includes displaying an option to claim or refuse a benefit with respect to each individual product in the subsidized list. In response to receiving a user input to refuse to claim the benefit for a selected individual product, the method provides for moving the selected individual product from the subsidized list to the out-of-pocket list and displaying the selected individual product within the out-of-pocket list.

Abstract: The maximum output of a seismic source array may be reduced by activating the individual seismic sources within these seismic source array in a pattern that is extended in time rather than by the presently employed conventional simultaneous activation of a large number of individual seismic sources. Methods are disclosed which take data shot with patterned sources and may use a sparse inversion method to create data with the about same image quality as that of conventional sources. In this manner the output of the maximum impulse of a seismic source array may be reduced by an amplitude factor of about 10 in the examples shown here, corresponding to a reduction of about 20 dB while maintaining virtually the same seismic image quality. The disclosed methods may be used in combination with any simultaneous sourcing technique. In addition, the disclosed methods may be used with a plurality of source arrays.
