  • Publication number: 20170046013
Abstract: An invention is disclosed for conducting a remote presentation session with a client that uses a web browser to conduct the session. The client previously received browser-native program code that executes within a runtime environment of the web browser. The browser-native program code instantiates a remote presentation client executing within a runtime environment of the web browser. The server generates graphics encoded according to a remote presentation protocol and sends them to the remote presentation client for display in the web browser. The client captures user input at the web browser and sends it to the remote presentation client, which encodes it with the remote presentation protocol and sends it to the server to be processed.

  • Patent number: 8612862
Abstract: Techniques for discovering, connecting to, disconnecting from, reconnecting to, updating, and removing workspaces are described. In one embodiment, a list of discovered workspaces is maintained on a user device. Shortcuts for resources corresponding to each respective one of the discovered workspaces are integrated into a user interface of the user device. A request to access one of the resources contained in one of the discovered workspaces is received. Responsive to receiving the request, a connection from the user device to one or more resource hosts containing the resources corresponding to the indicated one of the discovered workspaces is opened. Access from the user device to the resources stored on the resource host(s) corresponding to the indicated one of the discovered workspaces is enabled by presenting shortcuts for resources corresponding to the discovered workspaces as though they were local resources.

  • Publication number: 20120054742
Abstract: Techniques are provided for preserving state—both machine state and user state—in a virtual machine (VM) in a server deployment. User state may be preserved among a plurality of VMs in a server deployment by storing data specific to the user in a virtual hard drive (VHD). When a user logs into a particular VM, the VM remaps portions of a guest OS file system that correspond to user state to the VHD and mounts the VHD. Machine state may be preserved by storing information particular to a VM apart from that VM. When a VM is to be recreated, a diff disk containing the information particular to the VM is determined based on the current VM, the information particular to the VM, and a gold image that the VM is to be created with. Then, the VM is created with the gold image and the diff disk.
