  • Publication number: 20080054574
Abstract: A face seal fitting between two conduits which define an axial flow path is disclosed. The conduits have annular noses projecting from the ends which engage the opposite surfaces of a metal gasket to make engagement. The gasket has a first outer region with surfaces perpendicular to the axial flow path, a second beveled sealing region for engagement with the noses and a third inner region which defines a restrictive orifice.

  • Patent number: 5251941
Abstract: The present invention relates to face seal fittings for conduits or glands which employ metal gaskets. The fitting of the invention uses two annular end formations on each conduit endwall which sequentially engage the gasket to form two independent seals. The fitting is intended to be used in applications which have special cleanliness requirements.

  • Patent number: 5222747
Abstract: A fitting particularly suited for use in an ultraclean environment or a very clean room. The fitting consists of tubular members or glands having annular sealing beads which project from concentric radial sidewalls and a gasket. The sealing beads engage the gasket to form a seal and radial sidewalls engage the gasket to prevent overtightening of the fitting components.

  • Patent number: 5129688
Abstract: In a face seal fitting between two conduits, one conduit is provided with an annular groove in which a two-piece ring makes a sliding fit. The ring is coated with a diamond low friction coating which facilitates sliding of the ring in the groove. The ring assembly performs the function of a flange and is engaged by a threaded coupling nut. As the coupling nut is turned to engage a second coupling nut and draw the conduits together, the nut also engages the two-piece ring which slides in the groove thereby reducing torque.

  • Patent number: 5087085
Abstract: In a system for providing a direct sealing connection between flat coupling hardware and VCR-type coupling hardware, a gasket is provided having a conical inwardly facing side surface to engage the toroidal projection on the endface of the VCR-type coupling hardware. The opposite side surface of the gasket is provided with an internal shoulder to receive a metal O-ring to be sandwiched between the gasket and the flat end surface of the flat coupling hardware.
