  • Patent number: 8246822
Abstract: An apparatus for treating waste water comprises a mixing chamber including mixing members therein for mixing waste water and treatment chemicals therein and a separating chamber at the outlet of the mixing chamber for separating the flocculated contaminants and to provide a supply of clarified water. In a preferred embodiment, the chemicals are injected at sequential locations along an injection tube for sequential mixing of the chemicals with one another in the injection tube prior to the chemicals being injected and mixed into the mixing chamber for mixing with the waste water.

  • Patent number: 6932905
Abstract: A water treatment apparatus includes a mixing tube through which the waste water passes for mixing into the waste water a plurality of chemicals for causing flocculation of contaminants. The mixing tube is connected to a settling chamber for allowing settling of the flocculated contaminants and for supplying clarified water at an outlet of the settling chamber. The mixing tube has a plurality of injection members at spaced positions along the duct, each including a pump and a chemical supply for injecting a selected quantity of a selected chemical into the duct and each including a respective mixing member and drive for mixing the chemical into the water in the duct. An electrical separation section is provided in the system before or after the settling and includes a duct, into which the water is introduced and a plurality of amorphous metal plates across the duct arranged to be charged at low voltage.

  • Publication number: 20030070973
Abstract: A water treatment apparatus includes a mixing tube for receiving the waste water from the inlet and through which the waste water passes to an outlet of the mixing tube assembly for mixing into the waste water a plurality of chemicals for causing flocculation of contaminants in the waste water and a settling chamber connected to the outlet of the mixing tube assembly for receiving the waste water and the chemicals mixed therein for allowing settling of the flocculated contaminants and for supplying clarified water at an outlet of the settling chamber. The mixing tube has a plurality of injection members at spaced positions along the duct each including a pump and a chemical supply for injecting a selected quantity of a selected chemical into the duct and each including a respective mixing member and drive therefore in the duct at spaced positions therealong arranged such that each injection member is associated with a respective mixing member for mixing the chemical into the water in the duct.

  • Patent number: 4710290
Abstract: Chemicals are added to a fluid such as sewage to flocculate and precipitate solids therefrom which are deflected downwardly and sink by gravity to the base of an elongated chamber so that the substantially clarified fluid flows over a weir at one end of the chamber with the flocculated and precipitated material forming a sludge in the base thereof whereafter it may be removed either through a fluid lock device or pressurizing the system to stratify the flow and provide still areas for the sludge to settle through the fluid and be removed as required.

  • Patent number: 4164470
Abstract: Means are utilized to cause deposition of solids from a solution such as sewage. Tube clarifiers are then utilized to settle the solids by gravity whereupon the solids are urged to a sediment discharge by means of an auger thus leaving clarified liquid for separate discharge. The tube clarifier may include stationary or adjustable screens or baffles to trap the solids to assist in the settlement and/or the auger flight may be perforated for a similar reason.
