  • Patent number: 6786300
Abstract: A unitary step unit has a generally rectangular main body portion with opposed transverse ends and laterally opposed sides. One end is bent downward and angularly outward with respect to the main body portion and terminates in a short upturned lip that extends angularly upward and inward. The step unit is removably installed on the existing step of a conventional ladder having channel-shaped steps by engaging the upturned lip against the bottom edge of the down-turned longitudinal side of the step and then pivoting the unit downwardly such that the upturned lip of the unit is captured on the bottom edge of the down-turned longitudinal side of the step and its main body portion is supported on top of the step and extends a distance rearwardly beyond the width of the step in cantilever fashion to provide a relatively wide flat foot-supporting surface.

  • Patent number: 6417449
Abstract: A modular holder for suspending conduit and junction boxes from a support surface by a single hanger wire or threaded rod. The holder has an elongate body with a central threaded bore extending along a longitudinal axis and opposed flat ends, a first transverse threaded bore disposed intermediate the opposed ends extending through the body along an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and a second transverse bore disposed near one of the opposed ends extending through the body along an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The holder body may be suspended in a vertical position by a hanger wire looped through the second transverse bore or screwed onto the bottom end of a threaded rod whereby the lower end of the body is connected to a conduit hanger or a junction box.

  • Patent number: 4586740
Abstract: A latch assembly for releasably securing an article in the form of a canister within a container housing. The assembly includes a cam pivotally mounted on the housing wall and biased into the housing interior. The cam is urged into a disabled position by the canister as it enters the housing and a latch release plate maintains the cam disabled when the canister is properly seated in the housing. Upon displacement of the release plate, the cam snaps into latching engagement against the canister for securing the same within the housing.
