  • Patent number: 4127484
Abstract: A filter relief valve assembly for a simple, easy to assemble use with filter structures of the common oil filter throw away type which will function to permit oil bypass of the filter element whenever the fluid pressure exceeds a predetermined value. The assembly unit is complete unto itself, but when assembled with the other filter components support and center one end of the filter element and also center and align an associated check valve in cooperation with the filter end closure.

  • Patent number: 4126405
Abstract: A segment of a turbomachine nozzle is tangentially held in position by a pair of lugs extending radially from the outer and inner bands, respectively, at opposite ends of the segment, and resting against the adjacent support structure. In this way, the stress in the vanes and bands is maintained at a low level to thereby allow the use of high temperature, relatively low strength materials and reduced cooling measures. The lugs form integral end caps on the vane's one end and the cooling air enters the opposite end thereof.

  • Patent number: 4126196
Abstract: A scale position compensation means for a conveyor belt material transport system, the system including a conveyor belt having a tail end and a discharge end, belt drive means, and a weight signal generating means. Belt travel signal generating means produce a belt travel signal representing the change of belt position. The weight signal generating means produce a first digital weight signal representing a weight of material associated with a portion of the belt adjacent to a first reference point located between the tail and discharge ends. The scale position compensation means are responsive to the first digital weight signal and the belt travel signal to produce a second digital weight signal representing a weight of material associated with the abovementioned portion of the belt when it is adjacent to a second reference point located between the first reference point and the discharge end.

  • Patent number: 4126861
Abstract: A pulse radar distance measuring system in which the transmitter oscillator s injection-locked to a reference oscillator through a directional coupler. The pulses from the reference oscillator are of a duration which is approximately equal to the time required for the transmitted signal to travel to a target and return. The output of the transmitter oscillator is coupled to the transmitting antenna through the above mentioned directional coupler. The received target return signal is compared with the signal from the reference oscillator in a balanced mixer. The output of the mixer is coupled to a range-gated receiver and then to decision circuits for utilization.

  • Patent number: 4126172
Abstract: An improved shower curtain structure having an inner curtain and an outer curtain. The inner curtain is opaque and establishes an aesthetic background on the outer face thereof. The outer curtain is at least partially transparent with that portion of the outer curtain that is not transparent establishing a pattern thereon. The inner curtain's background and the outer curtain's pattern cooperate to define an illustration having a three-dimensional effect on a viewer positioned exteriorly of the bathtub or shower stall when the curtains are extended into generally parallel and spaced relation one with another.

  • Patent number: 4126183
Abstract: An offshore well apparatus so constructed and arranged to minimize chances of pollution of sea water by production fluids which may be released as a result of damage to the well apparatus resulting from natural causes, such as, action of masses of ice at the seabed, earth slides in the seabed formation, and breakage of the production system above the seabed. The offshore well apparatus includes a platform means at the sea surface and a well template means on the seabed formation beneath the platform means, a well casing means supported from the template means and extending into a well hole, riser pipe means extending into the well casing means and having a riser connecting means at its lower end connected to a production fluid control means located at a selected depth within the well casing means, and fluid pressure actuating means for the production fluid control means including means for automatically shutting off production flow at a selected depth below the seabed.

  • Patent number: 4126713
Abstract: An improved method for forming a metal-silica coating solution having particular utility in the formation of metal-organo-silicate films on semiconductor surfaces is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of forming a mixture of a first solution having a metal salt and a cross-linking agent dissolved therein and a second solution having an organo-silicate dissolved therein, and aging the mixture a predetermined length of time. This mixture can then be applied to the semiconductor surface where cross-linking takes place such that a viable film is formed. Further heating of the semi-conductor device causes a metal film to be formed which is in turn diffused into the semiconductor device. By the use of the metal-silica solution, an improved method for diffusing metal atoms into silicon for lifetime control is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4126710
Abstract: Particulate farinaceous material having moisture present therein and hot liquid fat are combined to provide a thick particulate mixture which is maintained at sufficient temperature to evaporate a substantial portion of said moisture and to thoroughly coat the particles with liquid fat. The heated mixture, which has a dough-like consistency, reverts to a liquefied state upon being cooled to within a specified temperature range. When the liquefied mixture is further cooled, a plastic mass is obtained wherein the farinaceous particles and crystallized fat glycerides are interspersed.

  • Patent number: 4125424
Abstract: An apparatus for the fabrication of battery separator sleeves in which two sheets of microporous plastic material are bonded to intermediately-disposed sealing strips by solvent welding or solvent adhesive bonding. Dispensers continuously apply solvent or solvent adhesive to the interfaces between continuous lengths of parallel, superposed sheet material and two, continuous lengths of sealing strips disposed between and along the lateral edges of the sheet materials. Bonding is achieved by subjecting the assembled materials to pressure applied by a series of pressure rollers and to heat applied to the lateral edges of the sheet materials by heating elements. The continuous length of formed battery separator sleeve is cut to the appropriate length.
