  • Publication number: 20070289490
Abstract: The invention relates to a material composition that is used for producing a coating for a component, especially a turbine component, which is made of a metallic basic material, i.e. a metal or a metal alloy. Said material composition comprises a matrix material for forming a basic coating matrix and at least one filler for adjusting desired coating proportions or coating characteristics. The matrix material can be provided especially with basic glass ceramic properties. The inventive material composition is characterized in that the matrix material and/or the filler contains nanoparticles.

  • Publication number: 20070187525
Abstract: The cold spraying process according to the invention uses cold gas streams whose properties (temperature (T), particle density (p), pressure (p), particle velocity (v)) are variably changed such that they can be adapted to the desired properties of the coatings.

  • Publication number: 20070189702
Abstract: A cladding (22) for a wall (12) includes a barrier layer (24) that can be deformed by the action of a polymer actuator (14). According to the invention, a contact surface (A) of the cladding lies completely against the wall, at least in the non-deformed state, stabilising the intrinsically elastic wall cladding. For example, the wall cladding can be fixed to the wall (12) in the form of lamellae (22), at respective points, in such a way that the activation of the polymer actuator (14) causes the lamellae (22) to bend, thus permitting, for example, a layer (25) of ice to be detached from the cladding. Alternatively, the cladding can also be configured from a membrane actuator, which is fixed at points, or by its entire surface to the wall (12).

  • Patent number: 7059753
Abstract: The invention relates to a lamp, in particular a motor-vehicle headlight lamp, with a plastic part of which the surface is provided with a coating which contains at least one compound of a metal with oxygen or nitrogen. The coating has the effect of preventing gas emission from the plastic.

  • Publication number: 20060035103
Abstract: Inner coatings according to the prior art often do not produce a uniform coating. The method according to the invention for the coating of a component with a cavity is characterized in that a coating material is mixed with a carrier material and introduced into the cavity, the carrier material decomposing at the evaporating temperature of the coating material, or has already decomposed, and the coating material being deposited from the gas phase on the component.

  • Patent number: 6887354
Abstract: A method for applying a coating (23) to a part of a surface of a lamp (20). The aim is to provide a simple manner of applying exact coatings to parts of surfaces with complicated designs. To this end, the lamp is vacuum-coated. The parts of the surface of the lamp (20) that are not to be coated are covered by a mask (3) and at least one coat is applied to the non-covered parts of the surface. The mask (3) is located at a predetermined distance (d) from the part of the surface of the lamp (20) and the mask (3) is oriented in relation to an illumination element (2) or a base (21) of the lamp (20). The invention also relates to a coated lamp that is produced according to a method of this type.

  • Publication number: 20050017641
Abstract: The invention relates to a lamp, particularly a high-pressure discharge lamp, comprising a base (24), whereby an upper electric connection (28b) is contacted by a return conductor (27) running along a lamp body (14), and to a method for producing a lamp of this type. According to the invention, the return conductor (27) is provided by a conducting layer (17), which is applied using vacuum technology, in particular, sputtering and which is directly located on the lamp body (14). This results in reducing manufacturing costs associated with the mounting of an isolated return conductor (27) running parallel to the lamp body (14). In addition, the lamp produced in the aforementioned manner reliably functions by virtue of the fact that the conducting layer (17) is not affected by vibrations. This lamp can be used, for example, for headlamps of a motor vehicle.
