Abstract: A first voicemail notification message corresponding to a voicemail message associated with a voicemail system is received at a mobile device. The first voicemail notification message includes a first voicemail message time expiration value which is stored in memory. If an expiration of the first expiration value occurs prior to a predetermined event (e.g. an earlier saving or deleting of the voicemail message), a voicemail message deletion indication is produced at a user interface. If the voicemail message is saved at the voicemail system after retrieval of the voicemail message, a second voicemail notification message is received. The second voicemail notification message includes a second voicemail message time expiration value which is saved in the memory. If an expiration of the second expiration value occurs prior to another predetermined event, the voicemail message deletion indication is produced at the user interface.

Abstract: Snooze support for event reminders produced on a hand held mobile device is disclosed. Snooze support in at least one example embodiment is characterized by an event reminder rescheduling method. This event reminder rescheduling method includes the step of prompting for a device user to take one of a number of actions in relation to an event reminder released from an event reminders queue. One of the number of actions is requesting, through operation of one or more input components of the mobile device, that the event reminder be generated again after a lapse of a snooze time.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for forwarding calls placed to a primary destination comprising receiving at least one call forwarding profiles, each call forwarding profile having a predefined duration and at least one call forwarding destination, receiving an instruction to activate one call forwarding profile to an activated profile and forwarding calls placed to the telecommunications destination according to the activated profile.

Abstract: In view of the foregoing, an improved handheld electronic device having a reduced keyboard provides facilitated language entry by making available to a user certain words that a user may reasonably be expected to enter. Incoming data, such as the text of a message, can be scanned for proper nouns, for instance, since such proper nouns might not already be stored in memory and might be expected to be entered by the user when, for example, forwarding or responding to the message. A proper noun can be identified, for instance, on the basis that it begins with an upper case letter. The proper nouns can be stored, for example, in memory that may, by way of further example, be a temporary dictionary.

Abstract: When a wireless communications device is traveling a speed exceeding a first predetermined threshold but less than a second predetermined threshold, the device is presumed traveling in a motor vehicle. In order to inhibit operation of the wireless communication device when traveling, access to certain device functions or applications such as e-mail, text messaging, etc. are limited by requiring the user of the device to respond correctly to a randomly generated visual challenge, such as, for example, a CAPTCHA (in which a user is prompted to recognize the characters in a visually distorted string of text). This visual challenge presents a sufficient obstacle that the user will be less likely to use the wireless communications device for e-mailing or texting while operating a motor vehicle.

The communication device comprises a display module, an input module, a line selection module, and a communication module for making a call over a network to a target recipient. Abstract: A scheme for redirecting data items to a user of a mobile data communication device that is associated with a host system and communicates therewith via a wireless network. Abstract: A system and method of pushing user-selected data items from a host system to a user's mobile data communication device upon detecting the occurrence of one or more user-defined event triggers is provided. The user may then move (or file) the data items to a particular folder within a folder hierarchy stored in the mobile data communication device, or may execute some other system operation on the data item. Software operating at the mobile device and the host system then synchronizes the folder hierarchy of the mobile device with a folder hierarchy of the host system, and any actions executed on the data items at the mobile device are then automatically replicated on the same data items stored at the host system, thus eliminating the need for the user to manually replicate actions at the host system that have been executed at the mobile data communication device.
