Patent number: 11339897Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture for valve trim apparatus for use with control valves are disclosed. An example valve trim apparatus for use with a fluid valve includes a cage positioned in a fluid flow passageway of a valve body, the cage including a primary valve seat and a secondary valve seat. The valve trim apparatus includes a valve plug slidably positioned within the cage, the valve plug including a primary sealing surface to sealingly engage the primary valve seat and a secondary sealing surface to sealingly engage the secondary valve seat, the primary sealing surface adjacent to a first end of the valve plug and the secondary sealing surface spaced away from the primary sealing surface along a longitudinal axis of the valve plug toward a second end of the valve plug.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2018Date of Patent: May 24, 2022Assignee: FISHER CONTROLS INTERNATIONAL LLCInventors: Thomas Nelson Gabriel, Jason Gene Olberding, Daniel James Eilers, Kimball Ralph Barron, Raymond W. Patent number: 10900591Abstract: A control valve has a cage disposed within a valve body adjacent a valve seat and proximate a valve plug to provide guidance for the valve plug. The cage includes a solid, unitary circumferential wall with inlet passages adjacent one of an inner surface or an outer surface and outlet passages adjacent the other of the inner and outer surface. An annular cavity is spaced apart from the inner and outer surfaces and is connected to the inlet passages. Intermediate passages are connected to the annular cavity and recovery plenums interconnect the intermediate passages and the outlet passages. The recovery plenums have cross-sectional areas that are larger than a cross-sectional areas of the intermediate and outlet passages.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2017Date of Patent: January 26, 2021Assignee: FISHER CONTROLS INTERNATIONAL LLCInventors: Thomas N. Gabriel, Raymond W. Micheel

Patent number: 9046184Abstract: A fluid flow control device includes a body defining an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid flow path extending from the inlet to the outlet. A valve seat ring is coupled to the body and defines an orifice through which the fluid flow path passes. A cage is also coupled to the body and defines an interior bore, wherein the cage includes at least one passage through which the fluid flow path passes. A throttling element is sized for insertion into the cage interior bore and movable along an axis between open and closed positions. The throttling element defines a sealing surface oriented substantially parallel to the axis. A seal is positioned to engage the sealing surface when the throttling element is substantially in the closed position, thereby to restrict fluid flow through the valve seat ring orifice.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2013Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: FISHER CONTROLS INTERNATIONAL LLCInventors: Raymond W. Micheel, David Westwater
