  • Publication number: 20230419941
Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include receiving, from a client device, a request for multimedia content, where the request includes both a manifest request that includes client identification data and a license request that includes a license challenge. The method may further include validating the received request for multimedia content using the client identification data in the manifest request and generating a manifest response that includes an identification of a specified multimedia content stream that is to be provided to the client device. The method may also include acquiring at least one license in response to the license request, where the license includes a response to the license challenge having various content keys, and then providing the specified multimedia content stream, including the generated manifest response and the acquired license, to the client device. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10672399
Abstract: Techniques are provided for creating a mapping that maps locations in audio data (e.g., an audio book) to corresponding locations in text data (e.g., an e-book). Techniques are provided for using a mapping between audio data and text data, whether the mapping is created automatically or manually. A mapping may be used for bookmark switching where a bookmark established in one version of a digital work (e.g., e-book) is used to identify a corresponding location with another version of the digital work (e.g., an audio book). Alternatively, the mapping may be used to play audio that corresponds to text selected by a user. Alternatively, the mapping may be used to automatically highlight text in response to audio that corresponds to the text being played. Alternatively, the mapping may be used to determine where an annotation created in one media context (e.g., audio) will be consumed in another media context.

  • Patent number: 8886217
Abstract: The security level and/or other device behavior, configurations, or settings on a mobile device can be modified based on the location of the mobile device. The location of the mobile device can be determined by analyzing location aspects present at a location, where any parameters or attributes of a location that can assist in identifying a particular location may be used as location aspects. In a setup process, the mobile device identifies available aspects at a location and can use the available aspects to determine a location context associated with a location. In a use example, the device identifies available aspects at a location and determines whether the available aspects match a previously defined location context. If the available aspects match the previously defined location context, device behavior, configurations, or settings on a mobile device can be modified.

  • Patent number: 7891514
Abstract: A food and liquid container is disclosed having a base and lid and providing for an air-tight seal between the base and lid when they are attached to each other. The seal is achieved at several points which create two air-pockets. The securing portion associated with the base can be substantially J-shaped in cross section, while the securing portion of the lid can be substantially u-shaped in cross section. A first ridge on the J-shaped section abuts with a second ridge on the u-shaped section when the lid is attached to the base with the second ridge disposed above the first ridge. The lower outer end of the u-shaped section can be rounded and a lip can extend outward for easier gripping when removing the lid from the base.

  • Publication number: 20080126218
Abstract: Shipping costs are managed in a process wherein a plurality of entities who possess articles ship the articles via a mail system to a plurality of entities who receive the articles. A database is maintained of articles and article attributes. For each shipped article, the shipment control entity receives information that an entity who possesses an article will ship the article via the mail system to an entity who will receive the article. The shipment control entity is unrelated to any of the article possessing or article receiving entities. Also, for each shipped article, article shipping costs is determined based at least on one or more of the article attributes obtained from the database, and payment to the mail system is initiated based on the article shipping costs. Article attributes include the weight of the articles and ancillary items associated with the article.

  • Publication number: 20070147654
Abstract: A method comprises receiving input text; decomposing the input text into segments, e.g., single line segments; using a dictionary to identify at least one object in one of the segments for inclusion in a frame; and using cinematic conventions, e.g., proxemics, to arrange the at least one object in the frame. The input text may be received via a keyboard, via a disk drive, or via a network interface. The dictionary may include a slug line dictionary, a character dictionary, a prop dictionary, an action dictionary, an environment dictionary, etc. The method may further comprise determining the relative importance of the at least one object, and positioning the at least one object in the frame based on its relative importance. The method may further comprise analyzing a segment adjacent to the one of the segments to determine relevant objects for the one of the segments.

  • Publication number: 20050180807
Abstract: The present glass cleaning tool is a small, handheld, easily stored device having a self-contained supply of cleaning fluid stored therein and an applicator head for applying the fluid to a glass surface. The applicator head is stored within the storage handle of the device when the device is not in use. An attachment mechanism extends between the storage handle and the applicator head to secure the head to the handle and to allow the head to be extended from its storage location within the handle to its deployed position across the end of the handle, with the handle and head forming a T-shaped configuration. The device is particularly well-suited for carriage in an interior storage area of a motor vehicle for use in cleaning cigarette smoke film, fingerprint smears, and other contaminants from the interior of the windshield and other glass surfaces in the vehicle.
