  • Publication number: 20160153440
Abstract: A flange (50) for a pump (10) comprises a first face (65); a second faces (85); a passageway (110) for cryogenic fluid flow extending from the first face (65) to the second face (85), and the passageway (110) for a pipe (40) and comprising a first portion (120) of a first diameter and a second portion (130) of a second diameter greater than the first diameter, wherein when the pipe (40) has an outer diameter that is smaller than the second diameter, a gap (140) is formed between the pipe (40) and the passageway (110) where the pipe (40) passes through the second portion (130); and a first annular groove (155) in one of the first face (65) and the second face (85) and extending around the passageway (111), wherein the first annular groove (155) in cooperation with the passageway (111) forms a bellows.

  • Publication number: 20030067217
Abstract: Valve and method for a brake control actuator are provided. The valve includes a rod operable between respective operating conditions to selectively allow passage of brake fluid through the valve. The valve further includes a ball affixed at one end of the rod. The ball includes a sealing section that, upon engagement against a ball-receiving seat in the valve, blocks passage to brake fluid therethrough. The ball further includes a mounting section integral with the sealing section. The mounting section is configured to provide a reduced footprint relative to a spheroidal footprint and enable a strong mechanical joint between the mounting section and the rod.

  • Publication number: 20020063471
Abstract: A vehicle solenoid valve includes an inlet port circumscribed by a rounded cup-shaped valve seat and an outlet port. A two-piece poppet is installed within the valve and includes a non-magnetic poppet shaft connected to a frustum-shaped poppet head. The poppet head includes an integrally formed, rounded nose that is sized and shaped to engage the rounded cup-shaped valve seat. The poppet is movable between an open configuration, wherein the rounded nose is distanced from the valve seat, and a closed configuration, wherein the rounded nose engages the valve seat to block fluid communication through the valve.

  • Patent number: 6000679
Abstract: A solenoid coil attachment mechanism includes a coil assembly with a wire end that projects from the coil assembly and an extending elongated leg that includes a latching mechanism. A carrier has a wall with an opening receiving the leg of the coil assembly and has a wire guide that is funnel shaped, has an open end and receives the end of the wire. A circuit board is attached to the carrier and the wire end is soldered directly to the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5845672
Abstract: A solenoid actuated valve includes a first subassembly that carries a coil having its terminal pins attached to a structure such as a circuit board or lead frame. A second subassembly is provided for mating with the first subassembly and carries the valve body. The first subassembly has a solenoid spool including the coil, and a case surrounding the spool. An end plate is suitably locked to the case. A bias spring is provided between the spool and the end of the case. The spool assembly is designed to be freely floating both radially and axially within the coil case and end plate, as restricted by the bias spring. This permits proper location of the coil case to the hydraulic valve body assembly.
