    Abstract: A method of data transfer between a radio unit and a mobile wireless device includes obtaining a value for a measure of a location of the mobile wireless device relative to the radio unit. When the measure of the location indicates that the mobile wireless device is nearer to the radio unit than a speed-dependent threshold value, any required beam switch is made to one of a plurality of predefined wide beams for data transfer between the radio unit and the mobile wireless device. When the measure of the location indicates that the mobile wireless device is further from the radio unit than the speed-dependent threshold value, any required beam switch is made to one of a plurality of predefined narrow beams for data transfer between the radio unit and the mobile wireless device.

    Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for decoding data received from a terminal device. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises receiving data, from the terminal device, during a set of user conditions prevailing for the terminal device. The set of user conditions comprises a rank indicator value reported by the terminal device and a measurement performed by the network node on at least one reference signal received from the terminal device. The method comprises selecting, by providing the set of user conditions as input to a database, a channel matrix from the database. The database comprises a set of offline trained channel matrices. The method comprises decoding the received data for the terminal device using the selected channel matrix.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for switching a waveform for UL transmissions in a communication network to optimize power usage of the UE. In exemplary embodiments, the UE can use either CP-OFDM waveform or DFT-S-OFDM waveform for UL transmissions. A mechanism is provided to prevent excessive switching in environments where the channel conditions are rapidly changing Further, a signaling mechanism is provided for switching waveforms for UL transmissions using Layer 1 (L1) signaling to reduce the transmission time needed to switch between CP-OFDM and DFT-S-OFDM waveforms.

The method also comprises generating (S20) a second time-domain sequence (1040a) comprising a second set of time-domain samples, the second set of time-domain samples comprising the first set of time-domain samples and interpolated time-domain samples inserted between the samples of the first set of time-domain samples, the number of time-domain samples in the second set of time-domain samples matching a required number of samples needed for a digital-to-analogue converter, DAC, having a predetermined sampling rate, and providing (S50) the second time-domain sequence to the DAC.
