  • Publication number: 20070056438
Abstract: A pneumatic brake booster with short actuating travel, comprising a skirt and a pneumatic piston that are rigidly connected and slideably mounted in a sealed casing to delimit a low-pressure chamber and a variable-pressure chamber and a three-way valve arrangement that is controlled by a control rod connected at a first end to a brake pedal. The three-way valve arrangement having first and second valve seats and a valve that is applied to at least one of the first and second valve seats by a valve spring. The second valve seat being borne by a first longitudinal end of a plunger distributor while the first valve seat is borne by a first longitudinal end of a bushing slideably mounted in a sealed manner in the pneumatic piston over a defined first travel and beyond the defined travel the bushing is secured axially to the pneumatic piston.

  • Patent number: 6837048
Abstract: A master cylinder having a body with a bore therein delimited by a piston into a work chamber and a supply chamber. The work chamber (16) is connected to wheel brakes, while the supply chamber is connected to a fluid supply, through a supply duct. The piston has a shank retained by a guide ring mounted in the bore and a head bears against a thrust ring in a rest position. A first end of the supply duct is connected to the fluid supply, while a end is connected to the supply chamber. A hydraulic damping arrangement that dampens movement of the piston toward the thrust ring and includes structure for shutting off the second end of the supply duct such that brake fluid flows at a reduced flow rate from the supply chamber to the supply duct through at least one exhaust duct.

  • Publication number: 20030178262
Abstract: A master cylinder comprising a body of longitudinal axis (X) pierced with a bore of axis (X) for receiving a piston (10). The piston (10) comprising a piston head (32) and a piston shank (34) connected to the piston head (32) via a shoulder (36). The piston shank (34) is guided by a guide ring (38) mounted fixedly in the piston body with the piston head (32) coming at rest to bear against a thrust ring (42) via the shoulder (36) in the bore. The piston (10) delimits a work chamber (16) within the bore that is in communication with a supply chamber (14) containing brake fluid in a rest position and with the brakes by way of a valve device (18) arranged in the body of the piston (10) during a brake application.
