  • Patent number: 11804284
Abstract: A modulo based alignment system for aligning genetic material sequences is provided. The modulo based alignment system reduces the size of data required for the genetic material sequence alignment, reduces the number of the registers required for processing, reduces the power requirements, and reduces the amount of heat generated during processing. The modulo based alignment system provides methods of performing dynamic programs for global, overlapping and local alignments using modular arithmetic. The methods produce smaller parameters requiring fewer processor register bits. In addition, with customized hardware optimized for 8-bit arithmetic, the dynamic programs are sped up.

  • Patent number: 10654422
Abstract: A view friendly monitor system provides a monitor and a sequence of views that are regions of interest. The monitor can display a region of the camera view; the system is configured such that the displayed region of the camera view is a region of interest to the user. The displayed portion of the camera view changes to match the changing interests of the user. For example, a user that is interested to see a view in a direction beyond a certain edge of the monitor would move her head generally in an opposite direction. To see farther outside the edge, she needs to move her head farther in the opposite direction. In response to her head movement, the view friendly monitor system would change the region of interest based on the direction and the length of her head movement and display the new region of interest on the monitor.

  • Patent number: 10597155
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems for protecting against sun's damaging rays, and against unwanted onlookers like drones. The systems comprise a drone and a covering member attached to the drone. In one aspect, a Flight Control System, FCS, flies the drone in a selected spot. In one embodiment, the covering member acts like an overhead covering, and a measuring device provides the FCS information for flying the drone on a holding position over a stationary user. In another embodiment, a measuring device enables the FCS to fly the drone over a non-stationary user and to tracking him. Further, the FCS adjusts the drone position with respect to the position of either the sun or a detected drone in the sky. In another embodiment, a radio control, transmitter receiver, pair is used to communicate user's requests to the FCS. One request may be to turn on the motors.

  • Publication number: 20170232305
Abstract: Motion-related, information-indicating systems for football generate and present flight relevant information of a thrown football. These systems include a measuring device and an indicating device. In one embodiment, the system measures the spin speed of a football using a gyro. If the spin speed is higher than a preset value, then an LED light on the football is tuned on. A quarterback assesses his spin speed by whether the LED light is on or off. In another embodiment, the indicating device is an LED light positioned on a ring worn by the quarterback. A transmitter/receiver pair transfers signals from the thrown football to the ring. In another embodiment, the system measures the acceleration of a football using an accelerometer. Further the system indicates the acceleration value on an LCD display monitor positioned on the ground. A quarterback checks the LCD display to access the strength of his throw.

  • Publication number: 20170151909
Abstract: An image processing based dynamically adjusting surveillance system includes a camera configured for capturing a view that contains a key region encompassing a desired key view. The system further includes a control unit receiving images from the camera and a monitor that displays images it receives from the control unit. The system may include a first and a second predetermined region of camera view. In one application, the first predetermined region is chosen to include the blind spot of the side mirror. The second predetermined region is chosen to correspond generally to a region observed in a conventional side mirror. When there is no object of interest in the blind spot of a driver, the controller displays the view of the camera that is in the second predetermined region. When there is an object of interest in the blind spot of a driver, the controller displays the first predetermined region.

  • Publication number: 20160264049
Abstract: A dynamically adjusting surveillance system provides a monitor on one or both sides of a vehicle, each monitor including one or more cameras capturing an image that includes a key region. The monitors can display this key region to a driver of the vehicle. The key region can be updated based on the activities of the driver. For example, the key region can change to provide a desirable view for the driver before, during and after a turn is made. An angular sensor can be used to detect the position of the vehicle in the turn to dynamically update the key region displayed to the driver. The key region can be changed at a sufficient frequency so that a gradual and smooth view is provided to the driver during the turn.

  • Patent number: 9419651
Abstract: A system and method for correcting errors in an ECC block using soft-decision data. In an embodiment, a soft-decision ECC decoding method, uses “soft” data indicative of how reliable bits of data are when read out. Such a method may use an update module for receiving and manipulating the soft-decision data and iteratively change bits or groups of bits based upon an ordering of the reliability factors. Then a calculator module may determine the total number of errors still remaining after each iteration. Determining just the total number of errors instead of the actual locations is far less computationally intensive, and therefore, many combination of potential flip-bit combination may be analyzed quickly to determine if any combination might reduce the total number of errors enough to be handled by the conventional hard-decision ECC decoding method.
