    Abstract: A method of submitting a non-DICOM electronic healthcare document to an electronic repository according to another example embodiment includes receiving, at a web service interface, the non-DICOM electronic healthcare document to be submitted and metadata associated with the non-DICOM electronic healthcare document. The electronic healthcare document is converted from an object format of the web service interface to XDS object format. The converted electronic healthcare document is sent to the electronic repository and the associated metadata is sent to an electronic registry.
