  • Patent number: 5063812
Abstract: Improved pawl assembly for starting mechanisms of small engines mounted on the engine flywheel provided with a bore therein and includes an integrally molded, polymeric pawl, a U-shaped torsion spring and retaining means disposed in the bore of the flywheel. The pawl has a depending shank rotatably fitted into the bore of the flywheel and oppositely extending end portions. The outer end portion, or spur, is adapted to engage a fin or vane of the flywheel to orient the inner end portion, or toe, of the pawl to engage the teeth of the ratchet surface of a pulley type starter. The closed end of the torsion spring is fitted over the shank and urges the pawl to its ratchet engaging position. The spring includes leg portions fitted into the bore of the flywheel and each leg terminates in a laterally extending hook portion adpated to interfit within the retaining means disposed at the end of the bore opposite the end into which the shank is fitted.

  • Patent number: 4924831
Abstract: Capacitor charge ignition system includes a computer chip programmed to control ignition timing of the system. The system has a generator coil and primary and secondary windings of an ignition coil disposed on one leg portion of a ferromagnetic core. The generator coil is wound with respect to ground potential to provide positive pulses, one preceding and one following, in sequence, an intermediate pulse of negative polarity induced in the generator coil in response to rotation of permanent magnet poles past the one core leg. The positive pulses are supplied to a microprocessor which is programmed to determine the elapsed time between the pair of positive pulses and to provide an output signal which is a multiple function of the elapsed time. A capacitor is charged by the intermediate pulse so that its grounded side is changed to a positive polarity voltage which is connected in circuit with the primary winding of the ignition coil and with the anode/cathode path of a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR).

  • Patent number: 4586616
Abstract: A universal magnetic utensil mounting bar has an integral modular frame of generally elongated, rectangular configuration. The frame includes on one side thereof, a central channel shaped recess which extends longitudinally from end-to-end thereof. The opposite side of said module includes a pair of parallel, longitudinally extending, vertically spaced recesses disposed outwardly of the central recess. A magnetic rod and pole pieces are disposed in each of the parallel recesses. The central recess is adapted to receive selectively therein another elongated magnetic rod and pole pieces, a mounting bar portion of a towel rack, the bar portion of utensil support hooks and the bar portion of a dispensing spindle for a roll of paper towels.
