Publication number: 20240349945Abstract: Provided is a blending system comprising a cup and a motor base. The motor base may include a sipping mechanism and a plug that operatively opens and closes access to the sipping mechanism. In a closed position, the plug may seal the sipping pathway at or near the internal wall and at or near the external wall. In an open position, the plug may insert into a plug receptacle adjacent the sipping pathway. The plug receptacle and sipping pathway may be sealed from contents of the cup in a closed position. The electrical components of the motor base, such as one or more of the motor, battery, drive shaft, and blade assembly, may be offset from a central axis of the motor base to accommodate the sipping mechanism. The blending system may be portable.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2022Publication date: October 24, 2024Applicant: VITA-MIX MANAGEMENT CORPORATIONInventors: Casey Zale, Davis J. Patent number: 12089786Abstract: A hand-held appliance having a housing with a top portion and a bottom portion that houses a motor and a temperature sensor configured to monitor the motor temperature and, if the temperature reaches a predetermined threshold, trigger removal of power until the temperature is below the threshold. The motor is controlled via a power button located on an external face of the housing. The housing includes a speed-set-button located on an external face of the housing controlling the speed of the motor and a plurality of lights corresponding to the respective speed thereof. The bottom of the housing includes a coupling portion configured to receive an attachment such as a blending assembly, whisk, frothing assembly, or other attachment. The housing further includes a sensor configured to monitor motor performance and applied load and, if the load exceeds a predetermined threshold, trigger removal of power from the motor.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2020Date of Patent: September 17, 2024Assignee: Vita-Mix Management CorporationInventors: Saifur Tareen, Rebecca Hammond, David J. Publication number: 20240115078Abstract: A food processor assembly is disclosed. An example food processor assembly includes an assembly base, a bowl base, a bow, a lid, and a blade storage container. The assembly base includes a rotary input shaft that selectively couples to a coupler of a blender base. The bowl base selectively couples to the assembly base with the rotary input shaft extending through the bowl based. The bowl includes a body and a central column integrally formed with the body though which the rotary input shaft extends. The lid selectively couples to the bowl. The lid includes a feed tube to receive food items. The lid having a first vertical orientation to selectively couple to the bowl and a second vertical orientation to selectively couple to the bowl. The blade storage container selectively couples to the lid when the lid in coupled to the bowl in the second vertical orientation.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Applicant: Vita-Mix Management CorporationInventors: Rebecca Hammond, David Kolar

Patent number: 11903523Abstract: A food processor assembly is provided with a bowl base adapted to receive a rotary input, and an interlock. A bowl is separate from, and sized to be supported upon, the bowl base, to receive and process food products therein. A lid is sized to attach to the bowl to enclose the bowl and to interact with the bowl base interlock. The interlock of the bowl base is isolated from the bowl and the lid.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2020Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: Vita-Mix Management CorporationInventors: David Kolar, Rebecca Hammond, Fred Mehlman, Phonesacksith G. Patent number: 11266270Abstract: A food processor assembly is provided with a bowl with a substrate sized to be supported upon a blender base, and a sidewall to collectively define a bowl cavity to receive food products. A planetary gear transmission is supported upon the bowl substrate with a rotary input sized to receive a blender rotary output. A first transmission rotary output extends into the bowl cavity to provide a reduced rotation from the rotary input. A blade is connected to the first transmission rotary output for rotation relative to the bowl substrate to perform a cutting operation to a food product. The blade has a first cutting edge formed adjacent the first transmission rotary output to perform a continuous cutting operation to the food products. The blade has a second cutting edge spaced radially from the first transmission rotary output to perform a sequential cutting operation to the food products.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2017Date of Patent: March 8, 2022Assignee: Vita-Mix Management CorporationInventors: Rebecca Hammond, David Kolar
