  • Patent number: 8506759
Abstract: A macroscopically monoplanar secondary belt for manufacturing a cellulosic fibrous structure is provided. The belt, having two mutually orthogonal principal directions, a machine direction and a cross machine direction, and having a reinforcing structure; and a framework of protuberances joined to said reinforcing structure and extending outwardly therefrom to define deflection conduits between the protuberances, the framework of protuberances having a semicontinuous pattern and the deflection conduits having a semicontinuous pattern, is further provided. The protuberances and the deflection conduits have a vector component extending substantially throughout one principal direction of the belt, each protuberance of the pattern being spaced apart from an adjacent protuberance in the pattern. The protuberances have primary protuberances having a first width, T and the nodes have a second width, N, wherein a ratio of N to T is from about 1.5 to about 5.

  • Publication number: 20120285641
Abstract: A cellulosic fibrous structure product having one or more plies is disclosed. At least one of the plies has one or more unembossed areas, and the one or more unembossed area has a macroscopic first surface and a macroscopic second surface. The fibrous structure product also has a first wall which forms vertices with the first surface and the second surface. In addition, the first wall and the second surface form a top side wall angle of from about 90° to about 140°.

  • Patent number: 8135170
Abstract: A process for making an image for a papermaking belt wherein the image is the product of: (a) providing an image, said image being a simple geometric figure; (b) performing a first alpha image modification algorithm on said image; (c) performing a first beta image modification algorithm upon said image to provide a resultant image, said beta image modification algorithm being a three-dimensional image modification algorithm; and, (d) using said resultant image to form a pattern for said papermaking belt.

  • Patent number: 8088471
Abstract: A ply of fibrous structure product comprises a background pattern and a repeating pattern disposed on a portion of the background pattern. The repeating pattern comprises a master pattern comprising a first individual embossment comprising a major axis and a minor axis, a first line segment axis parallel to the major axis of the first individual embossment, and at least one individual embossment adjacent to the first individual embossment The individual embossment adjacent to the first individual embossment comprises a major axis and a minor axis. The major axis of the individual embossment adjacent to the first individual embossment and the first line segment axis form an angle of from about 0.5° to about 20°.
