  • Patent number: 10831359
Abstract: A user interface control for scrolling a display of computer program data during retrieval of computer program data includes a scrollable data retrieval progress indicator. The scrollable data retrieval progress indicator includes a track with a length that indicates the total amount of the computer program data being retrieved, an extendable scrollbar overlying the track with a variable length that extends within the track as the computer program data is received and indicates, in combination with the length of the track, a ratio of available scrollable received computer program data to a total amount of the computer program data being retrieved, and a thumb button overlying the extendable scrollbar and movable within the variable length of the extendable scrollbar to scroll the available scrollable received computer program data.

  • Patent number: 9558188
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to filtering technical documentation and provide a method, system and computer program product for rapid filtering technical documentation. In one embodiment, a data processing system for dynamically filtering technical documentation can include a rapid filter coupled to a viewer configured for rendering technical documentation in a window. The rapid filter can include program code enabled to concurrently render a summarized form of the technical documentation in a separate window.

  • Patent number: 7962862
Abstract: A method and software tool for performing an operation on a graphic object in a display of overlapping graphic objects in a data processing system are provided. The method comprises the steps of detecting the position of a pointer on the display; displaying to a user an indication of potential target objects of the operation which coincide with the pointer position; detecting a selection of one of the indicated potential target objects as the target object; and performing the operation on the selected object. In the case where the target object is not the outermost layer of the graphic objects on the display, the method may also comprise temporarily making the selected target object visible during performance of the operation on the target object by making the overlying objects transparent.

  • Patent number: 7865870
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method which derives from metadata definitions the allowable values for a method argument, where the allowable values are a subset or a restricted set of values from a defined range of values for that type of method argument. The subset of allowable values is then converted into a fragment of source code that can be used to initialize the argument variable with one of the allowable values when the method is invoked. The fragment of source code is inserted into the source code for that method argument using an editor tool. A system for implementing the method may comprise an integrated development environment (IDE) program.

  • Publication number: 20040001109
Abstract: A drop down checklist control. The drop down checklist control can include an activatable label and a drop down list visually coupled to the label. The drop down list can be collapsed from view until the activatable label has been activated. A checklist of mutually non-exclusive checklist entries can be disposed in the drop down list. Finally, a selectable submit control can be disposed in the drop down list, wherein the drop down list control can become collapsed from view upon selection of the submit control.
