  • Publication number: 20230357684
Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter provides devices, systems, and methods for model inter-organ communication. In some embodiments, a multi-organ-on-a-chip (MOC) system can include one or more micro-culture well configured to receive a live tissue sample therein and an impeller-based pump in fluid communication with the one or more micro-culture well. In this arrangement, the impeller-based pump can be configured to generate fluid flow through the one or more micro-culture well.

  • Publication number: 20210054324
Abstract: Provided are microfluidic chip-based models of immune system tissues. In some embodiments, the models include a microfluidic housing having a cell culture chamber and one or more channels in communication with the cell culture chamber and a cell culture residing in the cell culture chamber, wherein the cell culture includes one or more cells of the immune system. Also provided are systems that include one or more microfluidic chip-based models of immune system tissues, methods for patterning cells in culture on microfluidic chips, and methods for modeling immune responses of subjects using the same.

  • Publication number: 20210031187
Abstract: Provided are devices for carrying out reactions, which in some embodiments can include a plurality of first, second, third, and fourth reservoirs disposed on first and second surfaces, wherein the first and second surfaces are configured to move relative in to each other between first, second, third, fourth, and fifth positions to expose the first, second, third, and fourth reservoirs to each other or isolate the first, second, third, and fourth reservoirs from each other, as desired. In some embodiments, the devices include one or more detection windows that are substantially transparent to light in the ultraviolet (UV)/visible spectrum to allow assaying the extent to which a reaction has proceeded and/or to determine an optimal degree thereof. Also provided are methods for using the disclosed devices for performing reactions including but not limited to conjugation reactions as well as to optimize the same.
