  • Patent number: 10730174
Abstract: A drill apparatus including an inner tube, an outer tube slidably received within the outer tube, and a pole extension mechanism. The pole extension mechanism comprises a pole advance gear having pole advance gear teeth, and a drive gear having drive gear teeth, the drive gear being coaxial with and fixedly attached to the pole advance gear so that the two gears rotate together. The pole advance gear teeth are received in aligned spaced apart apertures in the outer tube. The pole extension mechanism further includes a lever arm having an end pivotally mounted on the support collar at a lever arm pivot point coaxial with the drive gear and the pole advance gear.

  • Publication number: 20200086400
Abstract: A method for engaging a drill trigger on the drill as it is advanced toward the ceiling with the drill apparatus. The drill includes the drill trigger positioned near the upper tube by a drill support for holding the drill, the drill support being mounted on the upper tube. The method includes the steps of: providing a strand looping over the drill trigger, so that the strand extends toward the lower tube. The strand is attached to the lower tube to secure the strand against movement towards the drill, so that the drill trigger is depressed by the strand when then the upper tube moves relative to the outer tube and towards the ceiling.

  • Patent number: 9808916
Abstract: A reduced arc box end ratchet wrench or ratchet drive wrench utilizes a multiple pawl ratchet assembly comprised of a body having an insert cavity to enclose critical components of an insert that is secured within the ratchet assembly. The insert is set into the wrench body and includes a plurality of pivoting pawls. Each pawl comprises a lever arm with ratchet engaging teeth. The pawl arms are positioned relative to the ratchet wheel to create “pawl swing arcs” and “reduced ratcheting arcs” to alternately or successively engage a portion of the teeth of a ratchet wheel at all times. This configuration allows smaller degrees between ratchet teeth and a smaller wrench rotation that is otherwise required to apply torque.

  • Publication number: 20170157727
Abstract: The present invention is a dust collection assembly for capturing dust, debris and residue that is created during the process of drilling holes into a concrete ceiling. The dust collection assembly is used with a universal drill stand and a drill saddle which has an electric drill secured to it. The drill saddle further comprises a telescoping vacuum tube having a ceiling contact portion that encircles the drill bit at the portion of the drill bit where the drill bit enters the ceiling. As the drill bit begins to penetrate the ceiling, silica dust is generated and removed via the vacuum tube, which tube is connected to a vacuum source.

  • Patent number: 9586312
Abstract: A universal drill stand for supporting a hand-held drill in an elevated and inverted position for drilling holes or inserting fasteners into a concrete ceiling or other overhead surface. The universal drill stand is extendable for use with varying ceiling heights. It eliminates the need for a worker to construct scaffolding or ascend a ladder or other elevating device to drill each hole, allowing the worker to remain safely on the floor and away from dust and debris associated with the drilling.

  • Publication number: 20140318324
Abstract: An apparatus and system comprises a pole having a top end and a bottom end. The top end is used adjacent a ceiling. The bottom end is used by an installer who is standing on the ground below the ceiling. The present invention is intended to be “modular,” the top and bottom ends being like-configured such that either end can be used as the top end or as the bottom end. Exemplary accessories are shown and described, each of which is disposed in a top end position. There are two types of accessory items contemplated by this invention. First, are fastening tools which are, for the most part, common utilitarian tools used with some sort of specific adapter and/or coupler. Second, there are proprietary accessories, which include offset couplings which can be used to drill and then impact or screw/torque a fastener into an aperture following drilling.

  • Patent number: 8171833
Abstract: The present invention is a rail system cheese cutter comprised of an arched cutting surface, rail and cutting arm with a removable cutting wire and tension adjustment component which allows the user to adjust the tension of the wire. The rail has a milled portion where the cutting arm is to be attached to the rail. One end of the cutting arm has a rotational bearing with a slot and opening. The slot is slid around the milled portion of the rail until the rail rests in the opening of the rotational bearing. Once attached, the cutting arm can be pivoted around the rail and moved laterally along the rail allowing the user to uniformly cut or slice a food item without moving it.
