  • Patent number: 11481193
Abstract: Some of the disclosed methods and apparatuses use several types of stochastic binary string (SBS) generators to generate SBS sequences based on the particular values to be multiplied. Some embodiments use a multiphase SBS generator to more efficiently generate multiple SBS sequences that are offset from one another in “phase”.

  • Patent number: 11474791
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for determining a stochastic binary string (SBS) representing a value based on the value represented in binary two's complement. Several different generators are disclosed for generating SBS strings, each being generated to have particular features that are advantageous under various conditions in which the string is to be multiplied with another SBS string. Several such generators can be presented and selected depending upon the particular values to be converted to SBS representation and the functions to be performed on those values.

  • Publication number: 20020146023
Abstract: An MPEG-2 transport stream multiplexer architecture includes an input-buffered multiplexer with a simple Longest Queue First (LQF) arbitration algorithm which is enhanced by use of intelligent buffer metering and flow control circuitry. The use of intelligent buffer metering allows the multiplexer to implement maximum and minimum bandwidth guarantees on a per-channel basis.

  • Patent number: 6160588
Abstract: A luminance notch filter for preventing color crosstalk adaptively attenuates a SECAM luminance signal depending on the strength of the luminance signal using digital filtering techniques. The adaptive luminance notch filter includes a bandpass filter centered at the chrominance band that is operative to receive the input luminance signal and provide a bandpass filtered luminance signal. The bandpass filtered luminance signal is multiplied by a gain factor and the multiplied luminance signal is subtracted from the input luminancee signal to provide a notch filtered luminance signal. A detector coupled to the bandpass filter output detects the signal strength of the bandpass filtered luminance signal and the gain factor is adapted in accordance with the detected signal strength. The bandpass filter comprises an infinite impulse response (IIR) filter that is preferably an all-pole IIR filter of at least 3.sup.rd order.
