Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are provided for cooling a mixture using a mixing paddle. The mixing paddle includes a shaft that is configured to connect to a mixer. The shaft, in one embodiment, connects to a blade that comprises a hollow cavity, and a refrigerant is sealed within the hollow cavity. The mixing paddle may be chilled to change the thermal state of the refrigerant to a temperature below that of a mixture. The chilled paddle may be connected to a mixer and used to mix the mixture. The refrigerant in the hollow cavity absorbs thermal energy from the mixture, thereby reducing the temperature of the mixture.
