  • Patent number: 5243129
Abstract: A flexible wiring system is disclosed for use with elevated floor systems and includes a grounding member which can be placed against, and mounted to, a metallic plate which forms a part of the elevated floor. An electrical receptacle is mounted to the grounding member for surface application of the receptacle on the floor. An electrical conduit is connected to the grounding member at one end and to an electrical connector at the other end. The electrical connector is flexibly movable in order to interconnect with other mating electrical connectors to perfect electrical continuity within the electrical system.

  • Patent number: 4927384
Abstract: A transition block for interconnecting flat undercarpet power cable to round conductor power cable has stackable terminal blocks each having an electrical terminal mounted therein. The conductors of the multiconductor power cable can be separated and folded such that each cable is vertically aligned with the other. Insertion of the cable into the terminal blocks and forcing the terminal blocks together causes an insulation displacement portion within the terminal block to pierce the insulation of the flat cable. A poke through type terminal is mounted adjacent to, and electrically continuous with, the insulation displacement portion for electrically interconnecting flat cable to round cable. The assembled terminal blocks are profiled for installation within the standard wall mounted junction box.

  • Patent number: 4864081
Abstract: An electrical power distribution system is disclosed which includes flat undercarpet power cable. The cable includes portions of the cables spliced to one another to effect a continuation of the power distribution. A covering for the spliced joint of the two cables includes two foam layers having double backed adhesive thereon which, when placing the two facing surfaces together, adhesively affixes the two foam layers together. The outer surfaces, which include adhesive, adhere a protective sheet of insulative material thereto.

  • Patent number: 4463998
Abstract: An electrical connector for undercarpet flat, flexible cable includes a metal plate having plural lands raised in relief, a terminal block constructed to overlie selected lands and a fastener carried by the block to secure in one of the overlaid lands and apply the block and the overlaid lands in clamped relationship on a flat flexible cable, terminals in the terminal block are urged by the block to penetrate into the cable conductors to establish electrical connections.
