The orthosis has an articulation and may be made from a pre-formed sheet of material containing cork and a thermoplastic binder. The orthosis may be uniformly perforated in its central part and may be composed of a mixture of cork and ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA). A method of manufacturing the orthosis is also disclosed.
