Abstract: A scroll compressor includes a hermetic container in which a refrigeration machine oil is stored in a bottom area, a compression mechanism that compresses a refrigerant which is suctioned into the hermetic container, an electric motor which has a motor rotor and a motor stator and is configured to drive the compression mechanism which is connected thereto via a shaft, a sub-frame that is fixed to the hermetic container and supports the shaft in a rotatable manner from a lower side of the electric motor, a balance weight that is disposed on a lower end face of the motor rotor, and a fixed cup that is disposed on an upper end of the sub-frame and surrounds the balance weight.
