  • Patent number: 8221589
Abstract: In a method for detaching a web threading tail from a moving surface in a fiber web machine, the web threading tail (12) is detached from a moving surface (23) by means of air that flows from a blow-off blow channel (19) included in a blade holder (14). A trailing blow (26) is directed to the web threading tail (12) using air that flows from a trailing blow channel (17) included in the blade holder (14). The blade holder (14) includes a flow surface (32), and the trailing blow (26) is blown to the same direction with or in a small angle relative to the flow surface (32). • Patent number: 6772533
Abstract: A multi-cylinder dryer of a paper machine, has at least one drying cylinder (10) and at least one roll (11, 12) located at a different height to the cylinder and at a distance to it in the machine direction. A paper web (14) travels from the drying cylinder (10) to this roll (11, 12). Dry air is brought to the dryer through a beam (13) located in front of the web (14) in the machine direction, the air is directed by means of nozzles (33) in the beam into a throat (21) between the drying cylinder (10) and the web (14) mainly to intensify the drying effect. A doctor (27) keeps the surface of the drying cylinder clean. The beam (13) forms with the roll (12) a smooth, high channel (25), at least on the side of the roll (12), for the passage of the web during a disturbance.

  • Patent number: 6447646
Abstract: The invention relates to a doctor assembly in a paper machine, which is intended to clean, e.g., a roll, and which includes a surface against which a doctor blade is set, a blade support for supporting the doctor blade, a frame, a jointed bearing assembly, which supports the doctor blade and is itself supported from the frame, and which is parallel to the doctor blade, and extends essentially over the entire width of the roll, and loading devices between the blade support and the frame for turning the doctor blade in relation to the frame and for pressing the doctor blade against the surface with a selected pressure. Due to the continuous support, there is essentially no deflection in the doctor assembly, when it is attached by its frame directly to the structures of the paper machine.
