  • Patent number: 8576421
Abstract: Disclosed is a printer for performing a process on the basis of received print data, the process including feeding a print sheet for a page, printing on the fed sheet, and ejecting the printed sheet. The printer includes a controller that allows a sheet for a succeeding page to be ejected without being printed when allowing the sheet for the succeeding page to be fed before completion of the process on another sheet for a preceding page which is in progress and then recognizing the end of a print data block corresponding to the succeeding page.

  • Publication number: 20070211270
Abstract: A printer for executing printing on the basis of tone data representing a tone of one of a plurality of colors of ink, includes an input unit that inputs first tone data for a color represented by N bits per pixel and second tone data for a color represented by M bits per pixel, M being larger than N; a storage unit that stores the tone data input by the input unit, the storage unit including a plurality of storage areas, each storage area having a capacity that can store a group of the first tone data within a predetermined print range, wherein multiple storage areas are used to store the second tone data; and a print unit that executes printing on the basis of the tone data stored in the storage unit, the print unit being capable of processing both the first tone data and the second tone data.

  • Patent number: 6688788
Abstract: A dot-matrix printer for printing on a printing medium comprises a dot-forming section for forming dots on the printing medium; and a referenced data section to be referred to during movement of the dot-forming section, a character string to be printed being indicated as data having a predetermined resolution. Where M dots per a unit length are formable on the printing medium in a moving direction of the dot-forming section, and upon printing an N-character string per the unit length, M and N both being natural numbers, if (M÷N) is not a natural number, the resolution in the moving direction is made to be L per N-character string, L being a least common multiple of M and N, and while the dot-forming section moves across the unit length, the dot-matrix printer prints while referring to the referenced data section for L times.

  • Patent number: 6680784
Abstract: When 31-dot space data specified in 120 dpi from a host is expanded in an image buffer 41 in 90 dpi, a command interpretation section of a printer finds 23/90 dots and an error 43 corresponding to 31/120 by calculation. Error correction information 44 indicating occurrence of the error 43 and the error amount is placed at a position in the image buffer 41 where print data cannot exist. An engine control section of the printer controls head drive in the amount to which the shift distance as long as error correction is added based on the error correction information 44.
