    Abstract: A hose clamp has a flexible strap fittable around a hose and having opposite ends, a strap end part separate from the strap, and a mechanism for increasing or reducing the effective length of the strap. This mechanism is between one of the ends of the strap and the strap end part. A spring element separate from the strap and strap end part has one end linked to the strap and another end linked to the strap end part so as to provide a spring force in the circumferential direction of the strap.
