  • Patent number: 9339898
Abstract: A method for the production of a piston made of steel, for an internal combustion engine, in which the upper piston part is produced using the forging method, and the lower piston part is produced using the forging or casting method, and they are subsequently welded to one another. To simplify the production method and make it cheaper, the upper piston part is forged using the method of hot forming and of cold calibration, to finish it to such an extent that further processing of the combustion bowl and of the upper cooling channel regions can be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 7716996
Abstract: A wheel is provided for a test vehicle. The wheel has a rim and a hub, and whereby at least one force sensor is placed in the flux of force between the hub and the rim. A test stand is provided with the test vehicle that has multiple vehicle wheels and one or more of these vehicle wheels is embodied as a wheel with a force sensor placed between the hub and the rim. An appropriate procedure is provided for determining the aerodynamic characteristics of the test vehicle. Especially with a test stand equipped with a wide belt, the forces relevant to measurement of the drag coefficients can be reliably measured with the aid of the specific wheel with the force sensor. Use of overhead scales that have an undesired effect on the flow can be dispensed with.

  • Patent number: 7513340
Abstract: The present invention relates to a brake holder of a floating-caliper disc brake for motor vehicles at which brake pads arranged on either side of an associated brake disc are displaceably mounted. To ensure ease of displaceability a brake pad guide spring is provided that extends between the brake holder and the brake pads. For ease of mountability of both the brake pads and the brake pad guide spring, it is arranged for that the brake pad guide spring is mountable on the brake holder in a generally radial direction and is locked at the brake holder in both radial and axial directions by means of at least one fixing clamp, and at least one spring arm is designed at the brake pad guide spring and fixes at least one brake pad under spring bias in position on the brake holder in a clearance-free manner. These provisions not only improve the mountability of a brake of this type but also the rattle-free resilient arrangement of the brake pads.
