  • Patent number: 6039154
Abstract: A braking means for a movable part of a furniture component, especially an upholstered furniture component, which has support frame (1), with a slide rail (7) to be attached to either of a movable part (3) and a support frame (1), and with a brake bearing block (8) to be attached to the other of the support frame (1) and movable part (3), an adjustment device (9) for adjustment of the braking force exerted by the brake bearing block (8) on the slide rail (7) being provided on the brake bearing block (8). Especially sensitive adjustability and a small starting jerk are accomplished in this braking device by the bearing block (8) having two brake rollers (11) which roll on opposite brake surfaces (10) of the slide rail (7). As an alternative, the brake bearing block (8) is located within a crosspiece (6) through which the slide rail (7) penetrates.

  • Patent number: 5868467
Abstract: A seating furniture component, especially an upholstered furniture component with coupled backrest and seat adjustment, with a support chassis (2), with a backrest (4) adjustably attached to the support chassis (2), and with a seat (5) adjustably attached to the support chassis (2), as well as connection mechanism (6) for synchronous adjustment of the backrest (4) and seat (5) relative to the support chassis (2). The backrest (4) executes a tiltback and lowering motion relative to the support chassis (2) essentially as a pivoting motion around a pivot axis which is in the angle formed by the backrest (4) and seat (5) in front of the backrest (4) and above the seat (5). The seat (5) executes a corresponding but minor movement in the form of a superimposed sliding and lifting motion.

  • Patent number: 4879955
Abstract: An office workstation with a table plate (2) which rests on a lower frame (6). At the front left or right-hand side the table plate has an oblique edge (44) against which attachments, particularly plates (50,60) can be placed. The table plate is mounted on the lower frame (6) with a height adjustment device (68). The height adjustment device engages in through-openings (28) in the table plate (2). Support arms (12, 48) of an upper frame are to be firmly connected to the lower frame through these openings, when required. The upper frame can carry additional components (75,76) such as storage shelves or a vertical wall (16). The lower frame is composed of legs (7), which can serve to guide cables, and joint bodies (18,160) which are hollow and represent the connection between the legs and horizontal hollow beams (22,23,24,116). The hollow beams are accessible from the exterior through a flap (118) extending over their entire length.

  • Patent number: 4525093
Abstract: A modular framework system (construction set) for the production of racks for furniture from hollow forms and corner connections; the corner connections have corner connections and plugs; the corner pieces have a connection body with two continuous channels which run at right angles to one another; pegs of half width, "half pegs" start outside on the connection body; the pertinent plugs likewise have half pegs which may be inserted in various ways, so that one will obtain corner connections in the shape of an angle, of a T or of a cross; the half pegs have half conical threads which, after plugging in, supplement each other to full conical threads; wherein by screwing in of stud screws, the corner connections are secured against pulling apart and are locked in the hollow forms.
