  • Publication number: 20220161715
Abstract: Steering column switch (20) for a vehicle, in particular for a utility vehicle, wherein the steering column switch (20) has a housing (32), an actuating device which can be coupled to an operating element and has at least one actuating element (21, 22, 23), a magnet (24) and a magnetic sensor (28), wherein an actuating movement of an actuating element (21, 22, 23) in a first actuating direction (R1, R2, R3) can bring about a relative movement between the magnet (24) and the magnetic sensor (28) in a first direction of movement and an actuating movement of an actuating element (21, 22, 23) of the actuating device in a second actuating direction (R1, R2, R3) can bring about a relative movement between the magnet (24) and the magnetic sensor (28) in a second direction of movement different from the first direction of movement, wherein the magnetic sensor (28) is set up to detect the relative movement between the magnet (24) and the magnetic sensor (28) in each case in the first direction of movement (R1, R2, R3)

  • Patent number: 8134431
Abstract: The invention relates to a switch, in particular a vehicle switch, comprising a switching part which can be coupled to an actuation element, is rotationally mounted about a rotational axis and can adopt defined switch positions. The switching part comprises at least one permanent magnet comprising several south pole and/or north pole sections, and at least two magnetic field sensors which are arranged in a fixed manner in relation to the switching part. The output signals of said sensors, according to the switch position of the contact piece, is dependent upon whether a south or north pole section of the at least one permanent magnet is in the detection range of the respective magnetic field sensor and said output signals form an easy to determine binary switch code in the respective switch position. The invention also relates to an evaluation device for said type of switch, a switch unit comprising said type of switch and an evaluation unit.

  • Publication number: 20070151834
Abstract: A steering column switch comprises at least one switch lever having an actuating element, with the inner side thereof having a gate which is adjacent to a support and with at least one associated microswitch. An end of a tappet, which is guided in the support is in contact with the gate and the other end thereof is in contact with the microswitch.

  • Patent number: 6291784
Abstract: A compact snap switch that can be assembled mechanically and is equipped as a microswitch. The switch includes a housing for the microswitch and consists of two asymmetrically divided halves whose cut site runs along the edge of one of the large side surfaces. Thus a comparatively large assembly window and a favorable assembly direction are obtained due to the few undercuts of the components. In addition, due to the minor modifications of the machine-instrumented components, the switch can be easily modified for the different application formats. A movable contact lever with a moving contact is mounted so as to pivot in a knife-edge bearing. The free end of the contact lever has a wedge profile which with one of its two sides is exposed to a switching roller reloaded by a switching spring. Switching roller and switching spring are seated in a switching member which is movable along a straight path and abutted by a restoring towards an idle position.

  • Patent number: 6060671
Abstract: A rotary switch of the type assembled in steering column switches. In switches of that type it is frequently necessary to safeguard that in small angular switching distances they reliable take the switching positions in which the desired indexing operations take place. The present invention uses a replaceable locking ring which through its equidistantly arranged teeth fixes the possible angular positions of the rotary switch in that at least one tooth of the support, in the different angular positions, respectively engages between the locking teeth. Advantageous developments of the invention are concerned with means to lock the switch against twisting by inadvertence in that a gate valve is to be placed in its unlocking position before the switch can be indexed by one rotating step to the next position.

  • Patent number: 5973275
Abstract: The invention relates to a steering column switch which should, with a uniform construction, be easily adaptable to different switching tasks. The invention is operated, in an optional manner, by means of microswitches which can be inserted into a mounting cavity of a carrier unit (2), whereby the cavity is positioned in the area of the grip handle (1) of the steering column switch. Advantageous further developments describe additional possibilities for the activation, independently of the rotational movement of the grip handle (1), of additional microswitches (16, 22) by means of an activation knob (23) in the activating element (1), or by means of the longitudinal movement of the grip handle (1) of displaceable contact parts (15, 22).
