  • Publication number: 20150054114
Abstract: A vertically stacked thermopile and an IR sensor using said stacked thermopiles are provided. The vertically stacked thermopile may include multiple thermocouples stacked vertically on one another. The thermocouples may be connected in series, parallel, or a combination of series and parallel. One or more vertically stacked thermopiles may be included in an IR sensor and the thermopiles may be connected in series, parallel, or a combination of series and parallel.

  • Patent number: 5826982
Abstract: The present invention concerns a sensor module with a hollow mirror (3) at whose focal point a sensor element (4) has been arranged whose output signal is compared with a reference signal and is transformed into a temperature signal in an evaluation circuit (15). The sensor module has a thermopile (6) in whose immediate vicinity a temperature reference element (5) has been arranged; a first pre-amplifier (8, 9), that is capable of being calibrated, amplifies the output signal from the thermopile (6); a second pre-amplifier (10-13) amplifies the output signal from the temperature reference element (5); and a third pre-amplifier (14) is connected into the circuit in the form of a difference amplifier and forms the difference in signal between the outputs from the first pre-amplifier (8, 9) and the second pre-amplifier (10-13).

  • Patent number: 4967081
Abstract: An infrared detector has two infrared detector elements contained in a housing, the housing having a window which is transmissive for infrared radiation, and further electrical components interconnected with the detector elements are also contained in the housing. The housing is formed of a shaped plastic part in which a shaped sheet metal element and the electrical components are embedded. The shaped sheet metal component electrically connects the electrical components, and is provided with outward projections serving as the exterior terminal pins. The shaped sheet metal component has angled regions which are bent to surround at least a portion of the electrical components for shielding thereof.

  • Patent number: 4914298
Abstract: An infrared detector includes process and circuitry for detecting the direction of movement of a radiation source with a predetermined resolution. Four radiation-sensitive elements defining a square are provided in the detector, each connected to an evaluation circuit which compares the output signals from the elements. A normalized pulse is generated upon the occurrence of the maximum of the output signal from each of the elements. The direction of movement of the radiation source is identified from the chronological sequence and spacing of the normalized pulses.

  • Patent number: 4906834
Abstract: A circuit for an infrared detector includes a field effect transistor and a gate resistor connected thereto. A current-limiting component, preferably an ohmic resistor, is connected in series with the detector element between the gate of the field effect transistor and ground, to limit the current across the pn junction of the field effect transistor.
