  • Patent number: 4223439
Abstract: Manually operated cutting pliers in which two hinged plier grips are spread apart by spring action. One of the plier grips has a fixture, whereas the other grip actuates a jaw movable relative to the fixed jaw by a sliding drive. At least one of the two jaws on a side facing the other, has a cutting edge. The two plier jaws can be enclosed around a workpiece to form a closed jaw arrangement with a width which can be reduced to substantially zero by opening and closing the two plier grips. The movable jaw may be pivotally mounted on the outer end of the fixed jaw and is formed by a clamp to be placed around the workpiece. During closure, the clamp engages the sliding drive, and when it is actuated, the workpiece is gradually pinched between the jaws and finally split.

  • Patent number: 4109504
Abstract: A crimping tool with cheek plates that are closed and opened by an axially reciprocating piston via a lever drive. A securing arrangement operates as a function of the piston motion and permits an interruption of the piston drive, only after complete closure of the cheek plates. A pressure medium drive is controlled by a valve with an actuating lever for the piston. The securing arrangement operates jointly with the actuating lever or the pressure medium valve so that the pressure medium supply is interrupted only after complete closure of the cheek plates. A guide is provided at the actuating lever for turning on and off the cheek plate drive, and it extends in the direction of the piston movement. An abutment slides along it and is located on the piston.

  • Patent number: 3994333
Abstract: The two halves of the core box in a core blowing machine are mounted on a carrier which may be turned 180.degree. between a blowing position in which sand is blown into the closed core box and a discharging position in which the core box halves are separated in the direction of the axis of rotation and the molded core is ejected. A transfer receptacle moves into the discharging zone between the separated core box halves to receive the ejected core and to withdraw it from the discharging zone while the core box is again being closed and simultaneously turned with the carrier into the blowing position.
