  • Patent number: 6623565
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a household dishwasher, said dishwasher comprising a washing compartment, which is filled by a fresh water supply line, said supply line being provided with an inlet valve, a circulating pump that is connected to the washing compartment on the suction side and to at least one spray device on the delivery side; an evacuation pump, which is connected to the washing compartment on the suction side and to a discharge line on the delivery side, and a program control device, which also contains control units for controlling the pumps. The aim of the invention is to provide a simple way of partially replacing the washing liquid without any unnecessary consumption of water or energy. To this end, both pumps are operated in order to partially replace the washing liquid and the quantity of washing liquid to be pumped out and replaced is determined using the speed of the variable-speed circulating pump.

  • Publication number: 20030010113
Abstract: In a water-bearing household appliance with a liquid container filled through a valve in a liquid feed line, and in which a liquid filling level is detected for monitoring at least one safety level of a safety device, the safety device includes an optical light guidance system for reflecting a light beam by which the filling level is detected with the aid of a change in the reflection response on at least one reflecting site and is used to monitor the safety level. As an optical light guidance system, the safety device offers the advantage of dispensing with moving mechanical components—for example, a float, a level switch, an operating lever, an operating rod, etc.—to reduce the risk of mechanical defects that are associated with a substantial outlay on repair time and costs to a minimum or to completely eliminate the risk.

  • Patent number: 6464798
Abstract: A method for treating dishes in a dishwasher comprises the steps of radiating a radiation into a washing liquid in a given direction; detecting a radiation quantity of a radiation emerging from the washing liquid at a given angle with respect to the given direction for at least a given wavelength range; determining data including at least one of a type, a concentration, and a prevailing size of at least one of a dirt component, a cleaning agent component, and suspended particles in the washing liquid on the basis of the detected radiation quantity of the emerging radiation; and optimizing a washing program with the determined data.

  • Patent number: 4608960
Abstract: A method for producing weather-resistant panels of moulded elements consisting of particles, e.g. fibres or chips, mixed with bonding agents, or of raw materials prepared in some other way and pressed together under heat, a layer of vulcanizable elastomeric substances, such as natural and/or synthetic rubber or the like, being applied to the top and/or bottom of this loose or precompacted mixture prior to hot-pressing and the said mixture being vulcanized during the said hot-pressing in such a manner that the said panels or moulded elements may be produced quite simply as heating or cooling devices. This is achieved in that, for the purpose of producing integrated hollow conduits, trough-like depressions, lined with the said vulcanizable layer, are produced in the surface of the base-material before or during the hot-pressing, the said depressions being covered by an additional layer which bridges them over.
