  • Patent number: 6552533
Abstract: A position sensor to determine the absolute position of an object features a rotary position sensor with a tooth gear, which is resiliently and elastically tensioned against a toothing on the moving object.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 22, 2000
Date of Patent: April 22, 2003
    Assignee: Ruf Electronics GmbH
    Inventors: Dieter Schödlbauer, Reinhard Hochholzer

  • Patent number: 4998089
Abstract: A potentiometer which is adapted to be produced fully automatically includes a spring support (2) formed in one piece by injection molding of plastic material and given such configuration that it embraces such functional members as the slider spring (3), resistor plate (5), and base plate (6). The casing (1), is also molded in the same working operation. The casing (1) and spring support (2) are interconnected by a sprue lug (7) which is removed by shearing.

  • Patent number: 4866413
Abstract: The potentiometer consists of two halves. Each half has a base plate (5,6) ending in soldering lugs (51,61,62). One part each of a casing (1 or 2) and a rotary driver half (3 or 4, respectively) are molded to each base plate in a plastics injection molding process. The two potentiometer halves are interconnected at their casing parts (1,2), on the one hand, and at their rotary driver halves (3,4), on the other hand, by ultrasonic welding. For this purpose a circumferential thickening (15,47) each is provided of tapering shape. A slider spring (8) on the one hand has slider lobes (81) which slide on a resistor path of a resistor plate (7) and, on the other hand, slider lobes (80) which slide on the base plate (5) opposite the resistor plate (7). Hereby the central or potentiometer tapping is effected electrically at this base plate (5) and the soldering lug (51) connected to the same.

  • Patent number: 4845461
Abstract: A potentiometer has a substantially rectilinear slide spring (2) which rests on a defined inclined support surface (4) of the spring carrier (1), being supported, in one direction, at the front edge (7) of this support surface and, in the other direction, projecting into a recess (5) of the spring carrier serving as a thrust bearing for the vertical force. The slide spring (2) is anchored firmly on the spring carrier by means of a tongue (12) bent upwardly and by a post (13) of the spring carrier.

  • Patent number: 4812803
Abstract: A rotary potentiometer having a casing resistor support held in the casing, a resistor layer on the support, a spring carrier supported for rotation in the casing, and a slider spring fastened at the carrier in sliding contact with the layer. The spring carrier is coupled to a shaft whose angular position is to be detected by the potentiometer.
