  • Patent number: 5927449
Abstract: A proportional valve for a hydraulic dashpot, with a piston that slides back and forth on the end of a piston rod in a shock-absorbing cylinder. The piston is provided with pressure-sensitive valves for the exchange of fluid during suction and compression states and separates the cylinder into two compartments. Passages are provided for the fluid that applies pressure to the valves to flow through. Space that communicates with whichever compartment it faces and supplies regulating pressure to the particular shock-absorbing valve is provided on the side of the shock-absorbing valve that faces away from the passages. The piston is mounted on a control bolt. The control bolt has two valve seats and two bypass systems. One seat is associated with an electromagnetic spool accommodated in the first bypass system and chokes the fluid flowing through it.

  • Patent number: 5685659
Abstract: Pivot for articulating the load-bearing components of a jack. The pivot comprises a shaft that rotates in a bore. The components are lengths of U section or have lateral flanges or upright edges that overlap in the vicinity of the pivot. The object is to decrease the weight of the jack. Instead of a solid bolt, the axis is a hollow neck (19) stamped through the sides (15 & 17) or flanges (13) of one component and extending through the bore (18) in its counterpart.

  • Patent number: 5451870
Abstract: A sensor for measuring the difference between the velocity and/or position of a vibration-suppressing cylinder and that of a piston connected to a piston rod and moving back and forth inside the cylinder in a dashpot for motor vehicles. The sensor consists of a permanent magnet and of a winding in the form of a cylindrical coil and operating in conjunction with the magnet. The magnet is connected directly or indirectly to one of the mutually moving components and the winding is connected directly or indirectly to the other. The component that the magnet (5) rests against and the component that the winding (7) rests against constitute a complete circuit that carries the magnet's field.

  • Patent number: 5409087
Abstract: A hydraulic dashpot for motor vehicles. It has a cylinder that accommodates a fluid. A shock-absorbing piston travels back and forth in the cylinder and divides it into two displacement chambers. The piston is connected to a rod that extends through a centering component at one end of the cylinder. A hydraulic decompression-stroke limiter consists of a cup-shaped recess below the rod-centering component and of another piston on the piston rod above the shock-absorbing piston. Channels extend through the stroke-limiting piston and are blocked off in the decompression-stroke direction. The object is a less expensive dashpot. The stroke-limiting piston consists of a thin stroke-limiting disk with a diameter slightly shorter than the critical diameter of the recess and resting on a thicker support.

  • Patent number: 5303803
Abstract: A variable dashpot for motor vehicles A cylinder (2) full of vibration-suppressing fluid accommodates a piston (3). The piston is provided with vibration-suppressing valves, is fastened to a piston rod (8), and separates the cylinder into two compartments. The compartments communicate through a bypass. The cross-section of the bypass can be adjusted with a component (11) comprising a stator (12) with windings (13) and an electric motor (10) with a rotor (17). The improvement comprises making it possible to continuously and highly dynamically vary the cross-section of the bypass in a dashpot of the same size. This is attained in that the stator windings are accommodated directly in a recess (9) in the piston rod, which is made out of a material that can be magnetized, and the rotor is provided with permanent magnets (22), activates the adjusting component (11), and is accommodated in a bore in the stator (12).

  • Patent number: 5233293
Abstract: A sensor for measuring the speed and/or position of a piston in relation to that of the cylinder it moves inside of in a dashpot of shock absorber for motor vehicles. The sensor consists of a permanent magnet (10) connected to the cylinder (1) and of a sensor winding (9) in the form of a cylindrical coil that operates in conjunction with the magnet. The sensor winding has leads at the ends. Additional leads for a shorter winding component (7 and 8) extend out separately upstream of the ends of the sensor winding.
