  • Patent number: 6662502
Abstract: A movable partition system with a plurality of wall elements that are suspended from a guide rail and can be laterally moved to form a wall to close a space in a building. One of the wall elements is realized in the form of a door that can be operatively connected to a door closer that is mounted in a stationary manner to the guide rail. When the wall elements are moved to a closed position, the door is engaged with the door closer so as to pivot the door. When the wall elements are moved out of the closed position, the door is disengaged from the door closer. In addition, the door is prevented from pivoting by a rocker arm during movement of the wall elements, which rocker arm is rotated out of the way of the door when the wall elements are in the closed position to permit pivoting of the door.

  • Patent number: 6286277
Abstract: A sliding panel system whose sliding panel elements are aligned in a row next to each other when the sliding panel is closed and are positioned orthogonally in relation to the sliding panel when it is in its parked position. The individual sliding panel elements are guided on a first rail arrangement, a curved or bent rail section being adjacent to said slide rail in the transitional area leading to the parked position. The invention is characterized in that the slide rail has a curved or bent rail section in the transitional area leading to the parked position itself. When a point is switched immediately, said rail section opens up onto a parking rail running orthogonally or at an angle to the slide rail. The free end of the parking rail is configured so that it extends into the area of the sliding panel.

  • Patent number: 4878319
Abstract: A machine tool, particularly a grinding machine, wherein one or more machine elements (such as a wheelhead, a table or a saddle) are movable along guideways in or on the machine frame. Each of the guideways is overlapped or shielded by a guard, and each guard is movable by a discrete prime mover in synchronism with the respective machine element so that the width of clearances (if any) between the guards and the respective machine elements remains constant. The provision of discrete prime movers for the guards ensures that the machine tool can treat workpieces with a higher degree of accuracy because the prime movers for the machine elements are not affected by the weight, inertia and/or other parameters of the guards.

  • Patent number: 4624081
Abstract: A grinding machine for workpieces having pairs of surfaces which are disposed opposite each other and each of which must be treated by the grinding wheel has one or two inverting heads each of which can removably receive one end portion of a workpiece so that the two surfaces of the workpiece remain exposed. The inverting heads can be turned in synchronism through 180 degrees between first positions in which the first surface of the workpiece can be treated by the grinding wheel and second positions in which the grinding wheel can treat the second surface of the workpiece. The inverting heads are further movable to intermediate positions in which a finished workpiece can be replaced with a fresh workpiece. Several workpieces can be accumulated into a stack which is inserted into a cassette and the latter confines the stack during introduction into, movement in and evacuation of stacked workpieces from the grinding machine.

  • Patent number: 4574768
Abstract: The shaft of a dressing tool for grinding wheels is rotatable in two spaced-apart sets of roller bearings each of which is mounted in the radially extending leg of a discrete housing section. The two sections are connected to each other by two packages of leaf springs which extend radially of and are disposed at one side of the shaft and allow for uninterrupted thermally induced changes in the length of the shaft while preventing appreciable radial movements of the two sets of bearings relative to each other. One radially extending leg is integral with a third leg which is spaced apart from and is parallel to the shaft and is connected with the other radially extending leg by the two packages of leaf springs.

  • Patent number: 4502456
Abstract: A grinding machine wherein the grinding wheel has a profile consisting of recurrent identical sections, as considered in the axial direction of the grinding wheel. The profile of the grinding wheel is treated by a dressing tool whose profile is that of a worm and is complementary to the profile of the grinding wheel. The axial length of the dressing tool equals that of one section of the profile of the grinding wheel and the axes of the grinding wheel and dressing tool make an angle which matches the lead angle of the worm-like profile of the tool. A feed screw is used to move the dressing tool in parallelism with the axis of the grinding wheel at a rate such that axial displacement of the tool per revolution of its shaft equals the axial length of one section of the profile of the grinding wheel. The grinding wheel is used to convert blanks into toothed racks.

  • Patent number: 4406275
Abstract: An arrangement for dressing, profiling or otherwise treating the peripheral surface of a grinding wheel or the like includes a dressing disk which is mounted on a support for rotation about a given axis and has a peripheral surface which contacts and treats the peripheral surface of the grinding wheel during the operation of this arrangement. The dressing disk is also mounted for angular displacement about a pivot axis which intersects the treating surface at the point of contact with the grinding wheel, and also the axis of rotation of the dressing disk. The axis of rotation and the pivot axis of the grinding wheel make an angle of about 1.degree. in each of two positions which the dressing disk assumes relative to the grinding wheel during the operation of the arrangement. The dressing disk may be symmetrical or, preferably, asymmetrical as considered in a radial plane of the dressing disk.
