  • Publication number: 20120111452
Abstract: In a scraping or debarking apparatus a blade and a workpiece having an outer surface to be scraped are relatively moved by rotation of the workpiece about an axis or orbiting of the blade about the axis such that the blade moves angularly relative to the surface. The blade has a body with a front side face turned radially generally toward the workpiece, a back side face turned away from the workpiece, and an edge face bridging the front and back faces and forming with the front face a corner. The body is oriented such that the corner is in engagement with the workpiece surface, and a strip of a material harder than a material of the body extends on the edge face along the corner.

  • Patent number: 7657990
Abstract: Undercarriage assembly components of track-type machines having a PTA welded wear-resistant coating and methods for forming such coated undercarriage assembly components are disclosed. Bodies of the undercarriage assembly components, formed of an iron-based alloy, have a material PTA welded on a surface or into an undercut or channel of the iron-based alloy. A heat treatment of the formed component further hardens the body. The portion of the outer surface of the undercarriage assembly components having the wear-resistant coating corresponds to a wear surface of the component during operation of the endless track of the track-type vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20080083207
Abstract: A mower sickle bar has an elongated metal bar having a longitudinally extending edge region that is tempered and thereadjacent a longitudinally extending middle region that is not tempered. The untempered middle region is formed with a row of throughgoing holes. A longitudinally extending row of blades lying on the metal bar at least partially over the untempered middle region thereof is secured thereto by fasteners projecting through the holes and through the blades.

  • Patent number: 4016692
Abstract: The invention relates to a composite paving structure consisting of elements forming a pattern. The structure is made up of laying units each of which has a group of elements adjoining at their respective peripheries and held together by predetermined rupture zones. Supplementing stones are disposed at the boundaries of adjacent units. The stones have one or more elements and extend, in each case, into recesses in both of two adjacent units. Preferably, the stones are of one shape and the pattern is a herringbone pattern. The units may be offset relative to one another in the herringbone pattern.
