Abstract: A method and an apparatus for operating a process line in a spinning mill comprising various regions, for example comprising at least the regions blow room, spinning preparation and spinning, with each region being put together from several textile machines which operate in series and/or in parallel and form a machine plane, and with the individual series connected textile machines producing different fiber structures, wherein raw fiber material which enters into the blow room is obtained as spun yarn at the output of the spinning mill, is characterized in that one measures at least one quality feature of the respectively produced fiber structure at at least some textile machines in each of the named regions and uses it to regulate the respective textile machine or an earlier textile machine of the same region; and in that correction values are formed from at least some of the quality features measured in the spinning preparation and spinning regions and are used to influence the operation of a textile machin

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of and apparatus for detecting unwanted material in the form of string or woven fabric in a flow of wanted fiber flocks or in a wanted fiber fleece. To this end, the flock flow is guided through a wave field which detects the presence of unwanted material in the flock flow so that the unwanted material can be separated out in a separator facility. The wave field can be an optical or acoustic wave field. The result obtained can, in addition to the separation of the unwanted material, be displayed in display means and/or recorded.

Abstract: The drive system connects a servomotor via a clutch to a shaft after the motor has started up from a standstill to a speed in synchronism with the supply frequency to the servomotor. The clutch may also be actuated to disengage the servomotor from the shaft when the servomotor is slowed to a predetermined speed during stopping of the servomotor. A transmission is employed between the servomotor and the shaft to compensate for any shocks to the motor when engaging the clutch.

Abstract: An arrangement for handling conical thread packages includes a sensing device which senses the orientation in which the package arrives on a main conveyor to a juncture with an accumulating auxiliary conveyor, and a manipulating device capable of gripping the package and reorienting it if needed to obtain the desired orientation of the package on the auxiliary conveyor. A removing device may be provided to engage a group of the packages accumulated with the desired orientation on the auxiliary conveyor and to transfer such group to a receiving conveyor in such a manner that the packages are deposited in the container in respective layers with orientations which are the same in each layer but opposite in directly superimposed layers.
