  • Patent number: 11097631
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for charging a battery of a motor vehicle by an external charging station and to a motor vehicle which is designed to carry out such a method. The method includes the following steps which occur before coupling the motor vehicle to the charging station for charging the battery of the motor vehicle: first, on the basis of charging station data received by a motor vehicle, data which characterizes a current maximum charging capacity of the charging station, it is verified whether a predetermined charging state of the battery of the motor vehicle can be achieved by the charging station within a predetermined time. If the predetermined charging state of the battery cannot be achieved, a warning signal is issued.

  • Patent number: 10464433
Abstract: A method for ascertaining positional data describing a position of a motor vehicle relative to a stationary charging device as a destination. At the charging device end, a plurality of electromagnetic transmission signals are emitted from respectively different transmitting positions that are arranged in a transmitting position pattern and have respectively at least one signal characteristic that can be differentiated by the motor vehicle during reception. After which, for each reception signal received, signal strength data that describe its reception strength are produced, and the positional data are determined from the data, taking into consideration transmitter information describing the transmitting position pattern and an assignment of the transmitting positions to the signal characteristics.
