  • Patent number: 5072220
Abstract: An analog/digital converter assembly includes a first analog/digital converter having N-bit resolution, operating by the parallel method and having comparators. A sample and hold element is connected upstream of the first analog/digital converter. A second analog/digital converter has M-bit resolution, operates by the parallel method and has comparators. A digital/analog converter is connected upstream of the second analog/digital converter. A subtractor is connected to the digital/analog converter and to the sample and hold element. An amplifier is connected downstream of the subtractor. Output signals of the comparators of the first analog/digital converter are provided directly with a 1.sup.x out of 2.sup.N code for triggering the digital/analog converter. The same reference voltage is applied to both the first analog/digital converter and the digital/analog converter.

  • Patent number: 4633219
Abstract: An analog-to-digital converter includes a voltage divider (ST) having n series-connected resistors (R.sub.v ; v=1, 2, . . . n), divider points between the resistors (R.sub.v) and an end receiving a d-c reference voltage (U.sub.R) versus a base point potential, n identical comparators (K.sub.v) each having a first input receiving an analog signal to be processed, a second reference input each being connected to a respective one of the divider points, and an output, a common control logic circuit (LS) connected to the outputs of the comparators (K.sub.v) for furnishing a digital signal corresponding to the analog signal to be processed, each of the resistors (R.sub.v) being connected between one of the divider points which divider point is applied to that one of the comparators (K.sub.v), which is associated with a given (v.sup.th) output code, and another of the divider points assigned to the next lower output code, and each of the resistors (R.sub.

  • Patent number: 4563669
Abstract: A D/A converter that operates according to the parallel method, in which each of the conversion stages assigned to a given bit of the digital word to be converted has, in the conventional manner a current source that delivers a weighted constant current and an electronic switch with an output which is applied to the common output of the converter and which is controlled according to the command given by the control bit assigned to each particular stage. In order to prevent the errors in the output signal that occur in the customary D/A converters of this kind as a result of the differing response times of individual switches, each individual switching stage is controlled by a differential signal, in which the switching time for the rising edges is adjusted to be different from that for the falling edges.
