  • Patent number: 7118802
Abstract: A two-layer ceramic composite material, wherein the first predominantly load-bearing layer is an oxidic, carbon-free fiber-reinforced ceramic layer which is made by a colloidal process. The second predominantly thermally insulating layer is an oxide-ceramic foam. The colloidal process produces carbon-free oxide ceramics which, because of their high purity, have low dielectric losses in the entire usage temperature range. In addition, the colloidal process provides a simple and cost-effective production method.

Date of Patent: October 10, 2006
    Assignee: LFK-Lenkflugkoerpersysteme

  • Patent number: 5568021
Abstract: In an electrostatic accelerator with a target to be subjected to a beam of electrically charged particles in the energy range of 200 keV in a closed vacuum system, and an ion source for generation of the charged particles, a staged accelerator structure is disposed between the ion source and the target and includes a number of drift tubes disposed adjacent to one another in axially spaced but aligned relationship so as to permit passage of the beam therethrough and a high-voltage multiplier is disposed annularly around the drift tubes and is divided into stages corresponding to the adjacent drift tubes to which the stages are connected for providing accelerator voltages thereto thereby providing for a compact overall structure.

  • Patent number: 4686184
Abstract: A Tn-Mob element is provided comprising a transposon with a Mob-site inserted therein. Vectors and bacterial strains are provided containing the Tn-Mob element, as well as methods for its use. Such methods include the production of plasmid free bacterial strains.

  • Patent number: 4680264
Abstract: Vectors capable of replication in a broad host range of gram-negative bacteria are provided. The vectors are composite plasmids comprising a segment derived from an E. coli vector plasmid and a segment derived from a broad host range plasmid. The broad host range plasmid segment includes Mob-functions and DNA coding for replication functions with regions non-essential for broad host range replication or mobilizablity having been deleted. Bacterial strains containing the above plasmids as well as methods of cloning DNA employing such plasmids are also provided.

  • Patent number: 4626504
Abstract: Modified E. coli vectors are disclosed that are mobilizable to a wide range of gram-negative bacteria, but are not self-transmissible. The modified E. coli plasmids replicate only in bacterial strains of the E. coli group. Mobilizer strains of E. coli are also provided, as well as methods for employing the modified E. coli vectors for transposon mutagenesis, site-specific gene transfer, and the construction of DNA libraries.

  • Patent number: 4327438
Abstract: A receiving circuit for an interference-suppressing communications system having a narrow-band conventional message modulation and additional pseudo-noise phase shift keying (PN-PSK), has a pseudo-random generator whose pseudo-random sequence is identical to the pseudo-random sequence provided by the system transmitter. The pseudo-random generator actuates a phase-shift keying element to cancel the phase shift modulation produced at the transmitter. A matched filter or correlation network for correlation of the pseudo-random sequence at the receiver with the pseudo-random sequence contained in the received signal is provided. The message modulation impairs the function of the matched filter or the correlation network. The degrading influence of message modulation is to be eliminated, at least, reduced.
