  • Patent number: 6817246
Abstract: A device for detecting different conditions of a component, such as distorted conditions, movements and loaded conditions. Said device comprises a transmitter and a receiver which are located independently on at least one component at a distance from one another and an evaluation unit. The transmitter emits an electromagnetic wave (such as e.g. a laser beam), or a focused particle beam to the receiver. The spatial resolution can be increased by multiple reflections from a mirror and a semi-transparent mirror.

  • Publication number: 20040050523
Abstract: A process for transforming a metal alloy (28) having a liquidus temperature and a solidus temperature into a part solid/part liquid shaped body. The metal alloy (28) is poured in the molten state at a temperature (TMo) into a mould (10) having an essentially cylindrical mould wall (12), whereby the mould (10) at the start of filling exhibits a starting temperature that lies below the liquidus temperature, the mould (10) is set into an eccentric rotational movement at a starting temperature for the metal alloy (28) lying above the liquidus temperature and the rotational movement maintained until the metal alloy (28) has cooled to a to a discharging temperature lying between the liquidus temperature and the solidus temperature corresponding to a desired solid/liquid ratio in the shaped body and the shaped body removed from the mould (10) at the discharging temperature.

  • Patent number: 6623570
Abstract: A casting alloy of the AlMgSi type comprises Magnesium 3.0 to 7.0 wt. % Silicon 1.7 to 3.0 wt. % Manganese 0.2 to 0.48 wt. % Iron 0.15 to 0.35 wt. % Titanium as desired max. 0.2 wt. % Ni 0.1 to 0.4 wt % and aluminum as the rest along with production related impurities, individually at most 0.02 wt. %, in total at most 0.2 wt. %, with the further provision that the magnesium and silicon are present in the alloy in a Mg:Si weight ratio of 1.7:1, corresponding to the composition of the quasi binary eutectic made up of the solid state phases Al and Mg2Si, whereby the deviation from the exact composition of the quasi-binary eutectic amounts to at most −0.5 to +0.3 wt. % for magnesium and −0.3 to +0.5 wt. % for silicon the finely dispersed precipitates of the intermetallic phase Mg2Si results in high ductility.

  • Patent number: 6125911
Abstract: The apparatus includes a diecasting mold and evacuation elements for the controlled evacuation of a mold cavity. The evacuation elements includes a vacuum tank and a suction line interconnecting the vacuum tank and the diecasting mold. the suction line includes a first valve and a second valve which is coupled in parallel to the first valve. The valves are arranged so that a reference space is formed therebetween. The method for manufacturing die-castings includes evacuating a diecasting mold, filling the diecasting mold with casting material, removing the die-casting, forming a reference space in a portion of the suction line by closing the two valves which are coupled in parallel, measuring moisture, and pressure and temperature in the reference space, and controlling the apparatus in accordance with the measured values.

  • Patent number: 4509087
Abstract: A magnetic-tape cassette having an electrically conductive cylindrical tape guide which contacts the base side of the magnetic-tape, and has an axial recess accessible from the exterior for grounding the tape. An electrically conductive resilient element is arranged in the cassette, with one portion of the element positioned against the coating side of the magnetic-tape at the location of the guide, and the other side of the element in conductive electrical contact with the tape guide.
